"David and his tile crew came in and did an excellent job of installing new terra cotta tile in three small rooms of my home. They performed the work quickly and professionally. I would recommend David and his work crew to anyone considering installation of tile or flooring. I will also be using David to install wood flooring in some larger areas of my home in the next month. I am so glad I found David and I'm sure you will feel the same way once you have had the opportunity to work with him."

"Excellent - I ended up hiring someone to help with shopping and finishing piece - waste of time and money. Jill's service was by far the most useful and best value in my decorating process.

"The services performed resulted in a very beautiful and functional game room area.  My wife and I are very pleased with the work.  Roger, his primary employee, Dave, and all of the sub contractors he used were outstanding.  For example, the texture blends and paint matches were exceptional.  The travertine floor is perfect.  Cabinets were of of good quality and as ordered.  The carpet was modified and replaced for a nice cost savings.  Our new room appears that it was always configured in its current state. Roger was very accessible, genuinely attempted to address all of our requests and was very easy to work with."

"A young man named Arron came out to bid the job and informed me that this would be his first butcher block counter top installation. He gave me a good bid on the job so my wife and I decided to hire him and give him a little experience in the butcher block installation. We could not be happier that we did. Arron was very professional and did an excellent job on the counter top. I would recommend him on any counter top job someone may have. Thanks Arron."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

It’s not a good idea to lay tile and grout on the same day. The adhesive or thin-set that sticks the tiles to the surface needs plenty of time to dry before you can grout. Wait for 24 to 48 hours, depending on moisture levels in the space. The tiles can become misaligned and more prone to damage if you don’t wait.

To ensure an even and unbending surface to lay tiles on, you’ll typically need to put a subfloor under a tile floor. Fiber cement backboards are the most common choice, but using plywood is also possible. Don’t neglect this step, or you could risk water damage and grout or tiles prematurely cracking or crumbling, especially in an area with high foot traffic.

The reasons not to install flooring underneath a bathtub outweigh the benefits. A properly installed bathtub will keep water from reaching the unprotected subfloor underneath. Installing a tub on top of finished flooring can lead to damage and scratches to the new floor. Also, a small leak from a tub drain may be more difficult to notice if finished flooring impedes water drips.

Pool remodel costs are pricey, so you want to make sure you do it right. The best pool tile for you is one that looks great and fits your budget. If you have your heart set on a particular tile but can’t afford to tile your whole pool in that style, consider tiling only a small area or portion of your pool with specialty tile.

Porcelain is a relatively affordable, mid-range countertop material. It typically costs between $50 to $70 per square foot.

Compared to quartz, porcelain is slightly more affordable, as quartz generally ranges from $50 to $200 per square foot. However, lower-quality, builder's grade quartz can be similar in price to porcelain.

Compared to granite, the price can be similar, depending on the quality of the stone. While granite slabs can range from $50 to $200 per square foot, you can find lower-end granite in the same price range as porcelain. High-end granites will cost significantly more.

Porcelain is generally more expensive than laminate, acrylic, and ceramic, but less expensive than high-end slate, concrete, and marble. A key benefit is that porcelain does not require sealing, which reduces long-term maintenance costs.
