DLM is a General Contractor with over 30 years of experience, specializing in new home construction, remodels, concrete, roads, and light commercial work. With over thirty years of experience, we provide high quality projects for a fair price.

"Mike is very easy to talk to and made sure we understood what he was going to do to complete the project we wanted and made sure we understood how he was going to do it. If I could give more stars I would because he was willing to work around our schedule and neither him or his boys were bothered when my young children got a little too nosey."

If you’ve been considering an investment in a tornado shelter, the FlatSafe Tornado Shelter may be just what you’re looking for. This patented (#7428800) innovative new product is a below ground shelter intended for use in your home’s garage. Providing beyond F5 protection, it can be installed in an existing home and optimize the floor space beneath your car. Evaluated by four independent engineering firms, the FlatSafe Tornado Shelter respects every aspect of your safety and convenience, including in-home access. The extensive research and development of the FlatSafe Tornado Shelter addresses the fundamental components of a reliable tornado shelter. The most important considerations for a below grade shelter consist of proper ventilation, impact strength, corrosion control, buoyancy resistance, safe entry, and emergency egress. According to a National Storm Shelter Association (NSSA) Evaluator, Dr. James McDonald, a Professional Engineer, “The FlatSafe Tornado Shelter designs are well documented and well thought out”. Dr. McDonald also mentioned “The attention to detail is commendable”. In addition to the conclusions of a NSSA evaluator, Larry Tanner, a Professional Engineer and Research Associate at Texas Tech University, stated; “The Wind Engineering Research Center at Texas Tech University applauds your company’s efforts in providing a safe product for the consumer”. Transferable one-time, FlatSafe offers a 25 year corrosion warranty and is available before, during, and after the residential construction process. An Engineer’s structural analysis and drawings for architects, home builders, and permit offices are available upon request.

"We had a storm shelter installed by Flatsafe on April 3rd, 2018. We were very happy with the install and cleanup. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a storm shelter. We wanted an in-ground storm shelter and had visited a couple of other installers before we went to the Flatsafe showroom. We knew it was going to be a difficult install because of the very small area we were dealing with – a detached, single car garage very near the house with a stockade fence on one side. When we visited Flatsafe we were greeted and shown the in-ground shelter choices. We were able to thoroughly check them out while they explained to us how they worked. We liked the single door configuration and were impressed with the video showing the strength of it. We spoke with them about the difficult install. They were very positive about being able to do it but because of our concern they sent Corey to check out the area. He was very knowledgeable and reassuring and said they could install the shelter just fine. We had offered to remove the stockade fence if that would help but he said it wasn’t necessary. Corey explained that the install would just take extra time because the backhoe driver would need to carefully back up the driveway to dump the dirt each time. They added an additional charge of $200 because of the extra effort/time involved which we thought was very fair. They gave us instructions on getting the shelter permit and Linda called a week before the install to confirm and let us know what to expect. Then Chance called the evening before to confirm again and let us know what time to expect the team. Upon arriving on time the next morning they quickly got to work. They were polite, did an amazing job, and cleaned everything up thoroughly. They even power washed the garage floor. In our search for a good company with an excellent storm shelter we found that Flatsafe stands out far above the others with their excellent products and service. We were so thankful that they were willing to take on this challenging job."

"I highly recommend Wendland Masonry! Excellent, friendly service. They really care about their job performance and they went the extra mile to make sure I would be happy with my brick porch once they were finished repairing it. My porch is nearly 100 years old, and they brought it back to life. They took extra care to preserve the historical aspects of the porch. I’ve received many compliments on how well the porch looks now after the repair."

House Of Color Painting. Opened in 1989. We do quality work at the lowest price possible. We only use top of the line products. We offer warranty on all work preformed. Owner works on every job.

"This was the WORST experience I have ever had with house renovation/repair. House of Color was hired to paint the interior of our house while we were out of town. Upon returning from our trip, we were furious with what we found. "Flashing" was evident all over the house, which was very noticeable with the eggshell finish on the walls. The paint on the door trims and baseboards began coming off within a week, as it was not initially sanded and/or primed. THEY USED MY TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT (that I had naively not locked up) from my other various projects. Overall, $1,800 worth of MY tools and equipment were used and destroyed, which they did not replace or subtract from my total payment. They DID NOT COVER the windows, fan blades, floors, counters, or white painted trim (which had to be RE-PAINTED). There was PAINT SPLATTER EVERYWHERE, that had to be expensively removed by professional cleaners, using various tools and chemicals. The sinks and bathtub were also filthy from where they washed their equipment. The owner of the company did say the mistakes were due to a negligent employee (who was subsequently fired) and tried to fix the mistakes (which was a poor excuse considering the extent of the mistakes and negligence). However, my used/destroyed equipment was never replaced or paid for, and their touch-ups of all mistakes were poorly done as well. I WILL NEVER use this company again, and I have since switched contractors."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Homeowners can increase the usefulness of their garage space in other ways, and one option is to extend the length of the garage by making it deeper. The process is similar to traditional garage extensions, but the end product is a garage with a different layout rather than additional parking spaces.

The national average cost of a building permit is about $1,600, but this number includes extensive renovations. Homeowners typically spend between $150 and $2,000 in general on one or multiple permits for their project. Conversely, permits for simple projects, such as minor electrical renovations, could cost as little as $10.

Building a garage costs around $29,500, but prices can range from $16,800 to $42,200, depending on factors like size, materials, and whether it’s attached or detached. Additional tasks like electrical work, plumbing, or custom features can increase the total. Keep in mind that labor makes up 50% to 70% of the total cost, so picking the right contractor is crucial. While the price can vary, investing in a skilled professional—with the right certifications, licenses, and experience—is money well spent to ensure a safe, high-quality build.

A prefab, or prefabricated garage, requires far less construction work than one with a foundation and frame, but it’s not nearly as desirable and may not be a worthwhile option. A prefabricated garage won’t be as durable or long-lasting, and it doesn’t provide the same protection for your belongings and vehicles. Plus, you can use a standard garage for more uses—like living space—whereas a prefab garage only serves as a space for storage. Lastly, building a traditional garage will add to your home value, while a prefab garage usually won’t.

It’s better to build a garage than buy and install a prefabricated one. You can save money by purchasing a prefabricated metal garage kit for between $4,000 and $11,000. However, this does not include the price of labor and permits, which can account for more than half of the project cost. Building a new garage over buying a prefab garage will add more value to your home and will last longer, so it’s more cost-effective over time to build a new garage.
