"There was a team of three who worked together on this project and completed it in about four and a half days. The first day was spent tearing out the tub, shower, countertop, vanity, and toilet. Then they installed the new shower, Jacuzzi walk-in tub, vanity, toilet and the electricity for the new tub. We were able to use the new tub and shower while we waited for the new countertop to arrive. When it got here, they installed it and the faucet in a couple of hours. The team was very efficient and neat; they cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. Josh Robertson was the lead on the project, and he was a very good communicator. If you notice water leaking down the side of the bowl or tank and you don’t notice any cracks in the porcelain, the odds are that it’s condensation. If you notice water around the base of the toilet, this points to a leak. Check for loose bolts. A sewage odor may also indicate a broken toilet flange.
A toilet flapper will remain open when the chain that it is connected to is too short. The chain should lift the flapper just enough to allow it to open the rest of the way on its own. The chain should have just about half an inch of slack.
Toilet handles can get stuck for a couple of reasons, but it’s commonly an issue with the chain. Remove the lid and check the chain’s connection, running from the flapper to the handle arm. Sometimes the chain gets snagged on or against another part of the tank.
The chain might not have the right tension. For example, a chain that’s too short can make the handle feel stuck. Check that there’s some slack in the chain. Old, worn-out flappers can get stuck, too. In this case, you’ll need to see which size toilet flapper you need.
