"Powerlift came highly recommended from a colleague. However, our experience was much less than desirable. Steve came out and gave us a quote --he was very personable and polite. When the crews arrived and began their work, apparently there was some "extra" work that needed to be completed before they could continue. This extra work almost doubled the already extremely high price --from around $18K to $32K. We were told that the cracks in the bricks might not appear differently and that we would need to have them repaired but with the piers we should have no further issues. BTW -- the landscaping was a mess! Bushes were left unplanted and concrete piles were randomly distributed around our property --super messy! We did hire a mason to repair all of the cracks outside and a contractor made repairs in our sheetrock. Today, you cannot even tell that we spent 32K to get things fixed. We have cracks in our brick exterior and cracks in our sheetrock. Steve did come back (twice) and each time makes some excuse of what is happening but of course, it is not due to the work that they did. :( I am totally disappointed every single time I walk out of my front door. I would not recommend."

Unfortunately, that was far from the truth. Not only did they fail to correct the actual problem, but the piers they installed were done incorrectly and not even placed in the proper locations. It’s clear now that the work was rushed and not thoroughly planned or executed with the care it deserved. We’re now left with unresolved issues and the added burden of hiring another company to fix their mistakes. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable or professional foundation repair. For fixed stairs in commercial buildings, OSHA requires a rise between 6 and 7.5 inches, with a run between 10 and 14 inches. The standards are different for spiral staircases.

Building a new staircase can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the complexity of the design, materials, and whether an old one needs to be demolished. Straight staircases are quicker to build than curved or spiral staircases, which require more intricate design and precise measurements.

In most cases, the cost to pour a concrete patio falls between $8 and $12 per square foot. For a typical 200-square-foot concrete patio, you’re looking at an average price of between $1,600 and $2,400. Most concrete patios will be 4 inches thick, so thickness plays a minimal role in the price variance, but some types of concrete finishes can cost up to $25 per square foot, which has a major impact on your total.

Concrete should be at least 4 inches thick for steps. This thickness boosts stability and prevents cracking and deterioration. After you’ve built your forms out of wood, fill the void with a sand or gravel base for concrete. Use an all-purpose concrete mix to form your steps. After pouring your concrete steps, be sure to screed and float the concrete. 

Stone steps are often more expensive than concrete steps as they are specially cut and installed, on top of the material costs. Concrete is more readily available as many steps are precast, although custom-poured concrete steps are an option more similar in price to stone steps.
