"We contracted with Dukes Roofing to replace our storm damaged roof. Jeff and Aaron Barker worked with the insurance adjuster on our behalf, and were on site supervising their crew the entire time. They coordinated the roofing project, repairs that were needed and the guttering which was very helpful to us. We are very pleased with the quality of their work. We would recommend Dukes Roofing for anyone needing either roof repair or replacement."

"I originally hired them in October . My roof was not fixed until last week. I have never had my roof fixed before, but that seems like a long time to have to wait to get it done."

"Austin and his crew did an excellent job on my roof. It is an older home and needed some restoration work and removal of old shingles. They were professional, courteous and hardworking. Best of all, my home is safer and more secure."

"Legacy installed a new roof and they did an excellent, first class job. Tyler Tubbs their rep helped me thru the insurance drudgery and made the entire transaction painless. I have a large  2 story roof and they sent a crew large enough to finish in a reasonable time. There was an unexpected repair that had to be made after the roof was 1/2 complete and Tyler and Legacy stepped up and took care of it with no expense or effort from me. Tyler Tubbs was great to work with and I would definitley call him  (918-443-7627) if I needed roofing or repairs of any kind.  John  "

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Yes, all roofs can benefit from flashing. Roof flashing can protect a property from water damage, roof leaks, mold, and other serious issues. It’s vital if you’d like to extend the lifespan of your roof and avoid costly repairs down the road.

The cost to install roof heating cables typically ranges from $500 to $2,000, with an average of around $1,000. On a per-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $8 and $15 per linear foot. Key factors that influence the final price include the size and complexity of your roof, roof pitch, the type and length of the cable, the price of the system itself, labor fees, and whether any additional electrical work is required. Generally, smaller roofs will cost less than larger ones. The total cost usually includes both materials and professional installation.

Unfortunately, there’s no definitive answer to this question, but the wind rating of your shingles will give you a good idea of what wind speeds can damage your roof. If you’re concerned about damage, inspect your roof following windy conditions to look for signs of wind damage to your shingles. When in doubt, consider hiring a professional who fixes roofs to carry out an expert inspection. Remember that hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornadoes are likely to cause the most damage, but even severe thunderstorms can bring winds that compromise your roofing system.

The easiest type of roof to build is a shed-style or lean-to roof, which features a single sloping plane from one side of the building to the other. Unlike a gable roof with two sides meeting in the middle, a shed roof's single slope makes the construction process more straightforward. The rafters are typically single pieces of wood that span the distance, often without the need for additional supports.

Properly installed chimney flashing can last anywhere from 15 to 50 years. However, flashing generally only needs to be replaced when it is damaged, corroded, or no longer creates a watertight seal. Several factors influence its longevity, including the material type, quality of installation, and local climate. For example, copper flashing tends to last longer than galvanized steel. Large storms and extreme weather can also damage flashing, potentially requiring earlier replacement. To ensure its longevity, it is recommended to have your chimney and roof inspected annually. A professional can assess the flashing's condition and recommend any necessary repairs.
