"Air Quality Testing. Mike Laperle is very professional and straight forward. He knew exactly what my issues are and went about testing for the air toxins I knew were contributing to part of the problem. If you need your home tested for air quality, not just mold and mildew, I recommend him. I did put in some air purification systems and filters that he sells and within 48 hours, there was a noticeable difference. Of course, I need more work done as the house is getting up there in years, as are the occupants[smile], but it's nice and financially reasonable to boot, to have had the air tested, being able to see exactly what was floating around, and then, being able to address some of the issues within 24 hours. Believe me, it's what you don't see that could lead you to an article I had previously read entitled,"Could Your House Be Killing You" and finding out, yes, it could be contributing to worsening physical issues. If you have concerns about what may be contributing to indoor air quality issues, Mike Laperle and Aerus of Rhode Island are well worth talking to and then, follow up and have him come test the house. Finally, everyone in this market, of course, has something to sell, but what makes it a non-hard sell, is when you are dealing with someone who does have your needs as a priority, can show you exactly what the meters are picking up in real time, and who actually, questioned me about why I wanted something that cost a bit more when he thought I'd be fine with a different one that cost less. He also told me some of the other things I need to pursue on getting the house in better shape, but not once, pushed a contractor, another service his company may have offered, or anyone else at my husband and I. Afterall, that's what this site is for. Hope this helps you."

"I have had over 30 contractors at my home as it has been basically rebuilt.  This company has been the most professional i have dealt with.  Showed up on time, communicated progress, cleaned up at the end of each day COMPLETELY, came with all necessary tools and supplies.
Along the width of the house, all of the walls were removed from the floor to aprox 2 feet.  Lower portion of studs and base plates removed, walls sealed with amazing product, studs, base plate and walls replaced (not the sheetrock).  All lower level floors sealed.
We have had over 5" of rain in the last 24 hours.  This is the first time since i have owned this house that the floors have not flooded when we have saturated soil and heavy rain.

"First, I want to say George is awesome. I'm not sure there's anything he can't fix properly. He teams with his sister, who paints, and she does a great, professional job. George has brought some other handymen here to help him, and they benefit from his oversight. If anything is not perfect, George will come back and make it right. Among the work they've done for me is painting two half baths and a ceiling, replacing almost all the internal doorknobs with levers, stabilizing a pedestal sink, replacing weather stripping, replacing a light fixture, replacing a mailbox in a brick holder, and fixing a fence handle. "My neighbors had ROCA Roofing & Construction (ROCA) remove and replace their roof due to storm damage.  I was impressed with the quality of work and the expediency in which the job was completed.  ROCA had placed a sign in my neighbor’s yard, so I called the company to see if they would come and take a look at my roof.  A sales representative came to my home the same day and assessed the damage to my roof.  It was a very easy process.  The sales representative and the insurance adjuster worked together to prepare an estimate for replacing my roof.  The roof, vents and gutters were replaced and the exterior of my home was painted.  The sales representative went above and beyond the scope of work approved by the insurance adjuster.  I told him that I needed to move numerous concrete yard ornaments from my back yard to my front garden.  He offered to move the yard ornaments for me and did so the same day with the help of another sales representative. I was so pleased with the work they provided, I recommended ROCA to two other friends which resulted in two other jobs for ROCA.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
