"A very good and positive experience. Employees Omar and Jumon were very friendly, courteous, and professional. The leveling of my concrete which had a 1? crack and a 1.5? drop is now level as are all the slabs that needed correction, which was every section around my pool. All the cracks and dividers are now sealed as well. The employees worked steady from the minute they arrived until they finished. They well know their job and how to do it correctly. The cost was cheaper than replacing the small damaged concrete area. I highly recommend Groundworks.. They have the right employees, right service, and the right product."

Customers say: True professional

"I have used many concrete contractors over the years; however, Omar and his crew are at the top of the list moving forward. They are by far the cleanest crew I have encountered, the did grading work, broom filled bobcat tracks and even put fresh dirt over where the pump truck hose laid so the fescue would come back faster. Not an ounce of trash was left behind and this was all done of their own accord. Exceptional work and was well worth the added week or two wait time to get them on the job as opposed to someone else."

"Josh, the supervisor, listened to me as I described a problem we have with water erosion near the sidewalk. He suggested a gradual slope in two areas. The crew make very little mess as they worked and cleaned up pretty well after the job was complete. Josh used rebar and fiber in the concrete. It looks great and the slopes aren't noticable but work perfectly to guide water away from the house and into a french drain we had installed a few years ago. I'm very happy with the final result. I would use Advanced Concrete Design again and would recommend them to a friend without hesistation.

"We are very please with the work that Byren has done.  He was great at keeping in touch with us and getting us all the information needed to make decisions.  The work he has done for us is just phase I.  We will be completing several more jobs with him over the next year.  He was very fair on his pricing which is why we will continue to use his company to complete phase II."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.

On average, a mudjacking repair lasts between five and 10 years, though it can sometimes last for well beyond a decade under ideal conditions. Its longevity depends heavily on several factors, including the condition of the underlying soil, environmental conditions like freeze/thaw cycles and erosion, and whether the root cause of the sinking, such as drainage issues, is resolved. Because it doesn't always fix the underlying problem of loose soil, mudjacking is often considered a temporary solution. Proper maintenance and evaluation can help extend its lifespan.

A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.

Mudjacking restores level surfaces, prevents further damage, and is more cost-effective than a full replacement.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.
