"The sales representative that came to the house was actually the owner which I liked. Very knowledgeable, professional and was generally nice. He quoted me three different options, good, better and best. The high end package was a Trane and the other two were Coleman. The Trane price was slightly higher when compared to other companies. Only one other company I received estimates from carried Coleman and Watkins had a lower price. They offered the best warranties of the 6 companies. Overall the sales representative was good, the prices were good, warranties were above average. However the Trane was more than we wanted to spend and I didn't feel comfortable with the Coleman brand so we did not go with Watkins."

"It has gone very well! Very friendly, honest, reliable and trained technicians and office staff. They came out quickly, they told me the price upfront, answered ALL my questions and the different subcontractors that were needed for the job were also friendly, honest, reliable and well trained. I couldn’t be happier with who I chose to do this job. I Highly recommend Eco Plumbers!"

"The contractor, did a great job. Very professional and answer all of my questions about the work I wanted done. The price was right and he was on time, that is very important to me. I will use this company in the near future. And he communicated with me before the work was started."

"The sales rep. was very knowledgeable, and offered additional services that others had not. The price was fair, lower than others, the installers were excellent! They were efficient, skilled, and left the basement with no mess. They cared about the quality of their work and it showed. I would highly recommend them."

"  We are an older couple and have dealt with many companies through the years.  Extreme Heating and Air Conditioning would be in the top five of our favorite companies we have worked with on various projects.  We had a very knowledgeable salesman named Joe who  was wonderful.  My husband worked in refrigeration and knew a lot about heating and air.  He knew that Joe was giving us a  quality product at a reasonable price.  This was the fourth company we had seen for a bid.  It was very easy to see that this company and price was the most reasonable and honest of the four previous companies we had seen.  The workmen were on time and extremely nice and  professional.  They bent over backward to get the job done on time, even skipping their own lunch. After the work was done , Joe came back to check everything out.  There was one very minor thing that had to be fixed.  Joe immediately fixed it himself.  My husband and I were extremely satisfied with the whole experience.  I would absolutely recommend this company to my friends and family.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.

A floor plan is a less detailed illustration showing a building or room's layout from above, including elements like windows, doors, walls, and fixtures. It offers a simplified view for homeowners. In contrast, a blueprint is a more detailed, to-scale architectural drawing that includes all parts of the building plans, such as structural elements, construction details, and utility schematics. While a floor plan can be a type of view within a blueprint, the complete blueprint contains all the necessary details to turn the plan into a reality.

Hiring a professional to do a loft conversion will certainly speed up the process. The construction steps required to change the slope of the roof can be quite difficult to do as a DIY job. Should the project run into any snags, like rot in the joists, frayed wiring, or roof leaks, hiring a local home remodeling professional makes it far easier to handle these issues safely.

Universal design costs can be minimal when you add them during construction; however, adding universal design principles to existing homes can sometimes increase renovation costs. For example, a mid-grade bathroom remodel is estimated to cost around $30,000, while a standard universal design remodel can cost closer to $40,000. Adding accessible design components can include widening hallways ($500 to $2,000), curbless showers ($2,000 to $8,000), and widening doors ($400 to $800). Keep in mind that these increased costs can lead to higher resale values because universal homes may appeal to a wider variety of buyers.

No, it’s not legal for unlicensed individuals to conduct structural calculations for buildings or building repairs. Not only do licensing requirements prevent DIYers from tackling this project, but mistakes can also be extremely dangerous and put your property and anyone inside or near it at risk of severe injury or even death. You should always hire a licensed and certified local structural engineer to make structural calculations.
