Kapp's is a family owned company of around 100 employees, no subcontractors. Quotes are free and based on the actual size of the area to be treated. We use only phosphorous-free granular fertilizers. Member of the Professional Lawn and Landscaping Network.

"I've been a customer of Kapp's Lawn Service for many years. To be up front, I do not water my lawn during the summer. I had a routine service, and it was very hot and humid. My lawn was not looking good. I called the office to cancel my service for the summer to let my lawn recover. I never complained about anything or anyone. A week later, Jim, the field manager came over and explained that Kapp's was going to aerate both my front and back lawn, and reseed it for FREE. WOW, that does not happen very often. When my lawn becomes healthy I will continue with their wonderful service. And they are refunding my last service call."

9 Employees. No subs used. Cost determined by the job. No travel charges. Extra charges for after hours service. Additional DBA - Tomco Tree Service Inc.

"My neighbor had two trees cut down that were close to my power and cable drop. Upon coming home, I had to find out for myself that Tomco Tree Service hit the cable drop and ripped the anchor along with part of the siding off my house. This company uses an answering service to take all calls, which made if very difficult to get a hold of them. I got a call from John, who immediately told me there was no way they were responsible. After I told him exactly what had happened, his response was, and I quote "a dead tree branch must have fallen on it before we got there." After a week of denying the damage, I had to call someone in to fix it myself and John would no longer return my calls. Use this company at your own risk."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

In extreme cases, cutting a tree’s roots can cause it to eventually fall if the roots that were trimmed affect the tree’s structure and stability. If you make severe cuts to roots that are more than 2 inches in diameter, you run the risk of affecting the tree’s water flow as well as its ability to withstand severe winds or storms that could cause it to fall.

If your palm tree has spots on the leaves, rotting buds, or is beginning to turn yellow, then you have a sick tree on your hands. You should contact a palm tree specialist to identify the problem and help treat the tree if possible. Preventing diseases and pests is key to a healthy palm tree, and it's essential to take action as soon as possible if your tree is showing signs of being sick.

The best way to protect tree roots is to avoid the roots entirely by excavating outside the root radius of the tree. For nearby projects, it’s a good idea to construct a temporary retaining wall. But that’s not always possible, depending on the project and the root system. In these cases, consider using alternative equipment like an auger to tunnel under the ground.

Remember, tree roots can damage nearby cement foundations as they grow. If a tree is close enough to interfere with large excavations, it may be better to remove the tree than risk future problems.

Pruning can impact cold hardiness—but it’s less about the exact temperature and more about temperature variation. Generally, you don’t want to prune trees when there’s a risk of temperatures suddenly dropping from 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below. A tree is most sensitive until 48 hours after it’s pruned.

Peach trees don’t tend to live as long as other types of trees and crops. They tend to last only about 12 years, and you shouldn’t expect to see a full peach harvest each of those years, either. Young peach trees need a few years to get established before they produce fruit, but you should have plenty of peaches for your pies and cobblers during their mature years, around years four through eight.
