"I had OBA install outdoor french drains and new downspouts a couple of years before they waterproofed my basement. They were the only company I could find who did it all. Basement waterproofing included removing old, putting in new: full inside perimeter drainage, enlarge sump pit, 2 sump pumps, I-beams and carbon fiber straps. Added in brand new: battery backup for sump and vapor barrier on most affected wall. When my basement got wet a year later after the work was done, they didn't hesitate to schedule someone to inspect. If was heavy condensation, barely a thin puddle compared to 2 inches of flowing water. They had to rework a 6 ft section and add cement around the I-beams, each on their own call outs. They didn't charge because I have a lifetime warranty, transferable to the next owner. I'll be working with them again soon for a professional level dehumidifier."

"The project required removing a very large jet tub in the bathroom, reworking the ductwork and electrical systems as well as wall and ceiling construction, painting, finishing work on trim, installation of lights and all new bathroom fixtures. Our home is unique in it's design and construction, part of which is log paneled. They handled the integration of the new construction with the overall design of the previous rooms very well. The entire process went smoothly, on time, and on budget. There was some additional work needed due to unforeseen issues with the original construction of the house. They were very clear about what needed to be done and why, and potential solutions were discussed and the cost ramifications so that we had a choice in how to proceed. The company is very professional in the way they handle estimates and ongoing information. Supervisors were on site every day, watching over the work and checking on our satisfaction with how the project was going. The people who did the work were punctual every day, courteous and pleasant to have in our home, very knowledgable, and did top-of-the-line work. A lot of care was given to making sure that the construction (especially the dust) was managed well and every evening during the project, the house was organized so that we had uncluttered living spaces, and when the project was completed, all the debris was cleaned up and removed. "We hired the Fireplace Doctor to do a dryer vent cleaning early last year. After booking an appointment we found out that it would be a few months before they could make it out (after the Big Deal expiration date), but since we had called to book the job before the expiration date, they would still honor the coupon. We were contacted later to discover that the company had lost one of their workers who was responsible for my section of their service area but they would be able to accommodate me in January. I was contacted three separate times to both apologize for the rescheduling and to confirm the new dates.
Paul and Justin came out and cleaned the dryer vents in about ten minutes. As a courtesy, they also took a look at my gas fireplace exhaust to see if there was any signs of water entering the pipes. All in all, very good experience and would use them again.

"Jodie and Ben Arrived within a half hour of calling the office.  They actually brought a ladder and climbed on the roof to inspect and take measurements. Jodie investigated the condition of the roof from the attic and immediately found the area which was leaking; an old boot around the piping. He also pointed out I would need to get that wood replaced around that area soon before it caused problems.
 
He arrived the day he said he would, and began work right away. Originally I had just thought the corner of the gutter needed repair. He could have easily just repaired that area and left the rest of the rotted wood and I wouldn't have known. But HE DIDN'T He did the job right the first time! 
He was completely finished in two days (roof and electric box) and did an excellent job cleaning up after. I didn't find one piece of wood or old nail in my yard or on my patio.
The price was very fair for the amount of work that he did!

I use American Home Shield all the time.  I've had them for years.  However, the last few years, I've had to repeat call on three different items in my home.  Same exact thing breaks down, but you only have 60 days to recall.  It's $75 per call per category, ie, plumbing, electrical, etc (I think there is a limit of how many repairs per category, not sure).  I did not recall them in time, and it is going to cost me another $150 to have them come back and fix items that should have been fixed.

Anyway, it is a great insurance to have because if something really breaks down, it is a $75 fee and they replace it or repair it.  I have had my microwave go completely out, and I got a new one.
I LOVE American Home Shiled and think EVERY homeowner should have them.  They are a warranty company.  Read and understand what they cover, and you will aboluley love them.  They fix or replace, appliances, heater, air conditioning, pipes in the house, fix water leaks, (I think you have to hire someone to repair the damage done ).  
Insurances really try to get out of these things.  Their take is always (well, it's neglect, it's been going on a long time), so, they don't fix it.  Happened to me already.
If you have a home, BUY it.  It's worth the forty something buck a month.  Seriously.
