"This company came highly recommended. They seem very knowledgable and environmentally conscious. We have been pleased with their work. There have been a couple of small things that are annoying. Once, the service provider called my cell phone and left a message, but never rang the bell. We were home and he could have saved us all significant effort. Another time, someone came out for a problem, but the work order did not detail the specific problem we had called about. Again, a small problem, but he wasted his time investigating something that was already being addressed and then having to refocus on the problem at hand.

"We bought our new house in April of this year, and the yard was a blank slate. We called a few local landscaping companies and Virtuoso was the first to call back (some never did at all). Rod came out for a site visit and it was clear quickly that he knew what needed to be done. From plant and bed needs, to drainage concerns, he quickly identified the areas that needed to be addressed. We, not knowing anything about landscaping/hardscaping/or anyscaping, immediately liked what we heard, but felt that we needed to do our due diligence and seek other quotes. None of the others that came out made the same impression, and we went with our gut and hired Virtuoso. We are super satisfied that we did. The Virtuoso team listened to what kind of plants that we wanted, and they worked with us on a custom patio shape. The yard looks great, and will only improve as the plants mature. The patio is fantastic, and has been complimented by all who have seen it. The Virtuoso team was professional and polite, they worked hard, and provided a great outdoor space for us to enjoy for years to come. I can't recommend them enough."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible to DIY a plunge pool and shave labor costs off of the project total. If you’re considering a DIY build, keep in mind that you will be responsible for pool installation and landscaping (which may require excavation). This type of DIY project is best left to particularly handy homeowners who have prior pool installation experience.

Most outdoor water fountains and features do not use a lot of electricity, typically consuming between 100 and 250 watts per day. The size of the fountain's motor can impact its overall electricity usage. To reduce energy consumption, you can use a timer to automatically turn the fountain off at night or when you are away from home. Additionally, installing solar power components can help lower electricity costs after the initial investment is recouped.

Most home misters use several cups of water in a couple of minutes, or around a gallon per hour of use. That varies greatly depending on the size of the system and the power of the pump. If you are using professional services, you should ask about water use for your planned system when you’re getting an estimate. If you are using a water tank, make sure it’s filled before operation.

Deep clean your koi pond at least once a year to keep your fish healthy and your pond in good shape. Water testing, debris removal, and partial water changes should be performed weekly. Seasonal professional service will ensure everything is clean and functioning properly.

One of the most important parts of building a pond is digging the right depth. Your pond needs to be at least one to two feet deep. The specifics of the depth will depend on factors such as the placement of the pond and whether you plan on having fish. If you have fish in your pond, it will need to be at least two feet deep.
