"Davey was a pleasure to work with. He returned all communication (email and phone calls) in a very timely manner. He also arrived at my home on time each time we had scheduled a meeting. At our initial meeting I discussed with him what I would like done to the front bed. It was seriously overgrown and needed a lot of work including tearing out some very large shrubbery that had over the years intwined itself in my front porch railing. He agreed to take the job and very quickly sent me a digital design that would work for the bed. I thought the original design, while lovely, didn't really suit my personality. He was happy to redesign it & promptly sent over another design. I liked this one much better and he provided a quote. This was not an inexpensive endeavor, but they had quite a lot of work ahead of them & I am a firm believer in the idea that you 'get what you pay for.' I approved the estimate and he set up a time for his employees to come over and do the work. They arrived on time that day and got straight to work. About half way through the process, I had to leave the site for a few hours and saw that they had utilized my driveway for some yard waste they had pulled out already. I asked if they could let me out of the driveway and they were very happy to move the brush out of the way so I could leave. They were both very professional & considerate & I felt comfortable leaving my home with them there. After I left the site, I got a call from Davey letting me know that I had forgotten to turn the water on for the power washing to take place. We decided to finish the flower bed and we would address the power washing at a later time. When I arrived home after the bed work was complete, I saw not only a beautiful bed, but that all of the yard debris had been cleared away and my yard looked pristine. We had some scheduling issues (mostly due to my work schedule and the weather) getting someone to come back to do the power washing, but Davey was always available by phone or email and continued to be very communicative about when he would be able to send someone by to finish the job. Once the power washing was finished, Davey came back to my home and walked through the garden with me to ensure I was happy with how it looked and to answer any questions I had. He invited me to call or email with any questions I had in the future. I am very happy with how the work turned out & would hire again."

Driveway Gates questions, answered by experts

Yes, most services include safety checks and anchoring to ensure stability. Confirm with your provider.

If you only use your gate as a pedestrian, walking through without a vehicle, you’re fine to stick with a single fence gate. If your fence opening needs to accommodate vehicles of any kind, from cars to trucks to 4-wheelers, then a double fence gate will suit the space much better and give you more freedom.

A sliding gate, or a sliding gate door, is a versatile gate system used for various applications. Sliding gate mechanisms allow the gate to move horizontally along a track or guide system when opened or closed. They come in multiple types, including sliding folding gates, telescopic gates, cantilever gates, and track sliding gates. These gates are known for their durability, ease of installation, and user-friendly operation, making them popular for property access and security.

In addition to a doorbell camera, you can upgrade your home’s security with several different features. Backyard security, for instance, may include a mix of security cameras, lighting, and fencing. Additional security cameras around your property, as well as a total smart security system with an alarm connected to your smartphone, are also advisable. This could well be worth the cost for the peace of mind alone, but home security systems also lower home insurance costs.

A DIY manual wooden gate costs $200 to $600 for a basic single-swing gate. If you want to hire a pro, a manual wood gate can cost $400 to $4,000. For automated wood gates, expect to pay $850 to $8,500.

Factors that affect price include the quality of materials, cost of labor, the height of the gate, and the type of gate you need.
