Customers say: Quick response

"The installation went VERY quickly, about 6 hours for the 22'X11' awning. It looks GREAT too & is keeping the front room much cooler. We had it put on to the front of our home. It looks awesome and makes the house look larger too. We couldn't be happier & we have received nothing but compliments about it from our neighbors. It was a great dicision."

"Tom did a great job installing a replacement microwave and trim kit into a custom built cabinet, replacing a really old bathroom exhaust fan and replacing 8 electrical outlet boxes from 2 prong to 3 prong outlets. He was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and worked efficiently!! It was nice to have it all taken care of in a day."

"We were interested in a permanent patio awning for our deck. I received a call back within one day and the salesman came within the week. He was prompt and very professional. He took measurements, listened to our needs and then recommended an option. He brought in a sample to explain the quality of the materials. He also shared how they do not hire subcontractors, but keep teams of installers busy all year. The installers are employees.
We decided to put down a deposit so that we could get on the schedule and 2 days later decided to cancel the order. We decided that the price was higher than we were willing to pay right now. They returned my deposit within a week.
We have not requested estimates from others yet and will just to get a comparison. However, if I could afford the quality right now and the piece of mind of a good company, I would hire them, based on their professionalism and promptness on the front end. I would expect the same for the actual installation.
The only reason I gave them a B rating overall was because the price seemed high. Even if it is competitive, we aren't doing it right now. I felt that the price seemed in line with the quality and professionalism, just higher than we wanted.

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can convert a fabric awning to a metal one. You just need to swap the fabric for metal panels, which are more durable and weather-resistant. However, the support frame will probably need reinforcement to handle the added weight. You should consult a pro to address any structural concerns.

Awnings offer a variety of materials to choose from, each of which has its own benefits. Cotton is a lower-cost option that’s also more eco-friendly because it’s made from natural materials, while acrylic-coated polyester and vinyl offer better durability against harsh weather. Fiberglass and metal are also resilient to weather, although metal can be vulnerable to corrosion without protective sealant. Ultimately, you’ll need to consider your climate and your budget in deciding the best material for your awning.

It’s not a good idea to allow heavy rain to fall on your awning, as puddling can occur and overload the awning. Your awning should be able to handle a light rain, though you should allow it to dry out before retracting it or open it to dry as soon as the rain stops. As always, consult manufacturer guidelines for using and caring for your awning.

Stainless steel and copper are the most durable and will probably last the longest, especially when you compare them to fabric awnings. Steel is the most popular if your budget isn’t a top priority, but some people prefer copper awnings over steel because they are lighter, which makes them easier to install. Aluminum offers a more budget-friendly metal awning option that is still attractive and offers some durability, especially compared to fabric.

Metal awnings last much longer than fabric thanks to their durability and resistance to fading, sun damage, and damage from the outside elements. They also need less maintenance than fabric options. Both items add curb appeal to your home, but you shouldn't expect either type of awning to add property value to your home.
