Tree trimming services are typically more costly in the spring, so waiting until the off-season might save you some money on this project.

The type of tree vastly impacts the overall cost, mainly due to the size of the branches. For example, trimming Crepe Myrtle trees cost an average of $80 to $400, whereas giant pine trees can range from $200 to $1,800.

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. You can often tell if a tree is grafted because it will have a noticeable line. Above the line, the bark will look different than it does below the line. It’s most common with fruit trees.
