"Tri-County Electric Services was able to send a plumber out the next day to provide estimates for a few projects in my home. Chris M. arrived at my home and was professional, knowledgable, straight forward, and friendly. He quoted me fair prices to install a new toilet and new kitchen faucet, both of which I had previously purchased independently and had at home ready to install. I was very happy that he was able to complete the installs that day. He also fixed a minor leak below a bathroom sink. All around a great experience! I will definitely hire them again for future plumbing needs. Chris explained that the company recently added a plumbing division to complement their electric services. Thank you for a job well done!"

"Mr.Electic and Ryan, as well as the electrician, were all amazing. My electric panel burned out at night. I called them at 10pm and they had a representative at my house the following morning. They're quote was within market rates with a bit of an expected mark-up for urgency. It was definitely reasonably priced, especially since i couldn't find anyone else able to do the job right away. Long story short, the electrician was at my house the very next day after the quote and did an AMAZING job installing a larger panel. They needed to cut the wall to make more space and did it in a way that is practically invisible from the outside. You really cannot go wrong with this provider."

"I recently hired Andrea from CCC Electric to help with some wiring upgrades in my home, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, their professionalism and expertise were exceptional. Andrea arrived right on time and immediately impressed me with their friendly demeanor and clear communication. They took the time to thoroughly assess the project and provided me with a detailed explanation of the work that needed to be done. Throughout the job, Andrea demonstrated an impressive attention to detail, ensuring that every wire was neatly organized and properly installed. They also went above and beyond to address any potential safety concerns, giving me peace of mind knowing that my home was in good hands. Not only did she complete the job within the agreed timeframe, but they also stayed within my budget without sacrificing quality. Their commitment to providing excellent service while respecting my financial constraints was truly commendable. Overall, I highly recommend CCC Electric to anyone in need of electrical services. "Doing business with Goods Electric•Heating•Air was the best experience. This site would not allow for 5 STARS which is what GOODS deserves. This company and staff exceeded expectations. The staff worked diligently to ensure I was engaged in every step of the process. The communication, the team’s cohesiveness provided me with being a participant in this project. It was seamless from start to finish. The skill set of each team member enhanced the other. They use the best products which are highly rated, effective and efficient. Within a short time span the difference in my home was apparent. Their goal is 100% customer satisfaction. Indeed, I was 100% satisfied. The culmination of this excellence was in the masterful craftsmanship and skill of the two installers, Corey and Julian. I was present during the almost nine hours of their labor as they worked inside and outside. Their commitment to excellence, their expertise, their adherence to every detail, their focus, and their interlocked communication was something to watch unfold. Equally noteworthy was their patience and dedication in making sure the final product eas perfection. It was. After they were finished I was walked through everything they had done and given a master class in the operation of my new air condition system. 5 STARS for this excellent company and remarkable staff. I am grateful and appreciative. Time and money well spent. Thank you so very much. Carol"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Generators are safe to use as long as they are installed and operated correctly according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The most critical safety tips are to never use a portable or fuel-powered generator inside an enclosed space due to the risk of lethal carbon monoxide poisoning; always operate it outdoors where fumes can dissipate away from your home. Additionally, never attempt to connect a generator to your home’s electrical panel yourself—hire a professional to ensure the setup meets safety standards. Finally, avoid overloading the generator by not connecting more appliances than it is rated for, as this can damage your equipment or cause a fire.

A portable generator can supply power to selected appliances and circuits in a home, but it's generally not designed to handle the entire household's electrical needs simultaneously. Portable generators have limited wattage capacity, so they are only designed to power essential devices and electronics temporarily until local power is restored. If your power needs outweigh the capabilities of a portable generator, consider installing a whole-home generator instead.

If you have a transfer switch properly installed, the generator and main electrical power cannot feed the system at the same time. However, you should still shut off the power at your main circuit breaker panel before activating the generator. If you do that, you’ll simply need to shut off the generator and reset your circuit breaker once the local power comes back on.

To power a central air system during a power outage, the whole-house generator will need to be at least 5,000 watts, and this number will significantly increase for larger units. Check the specific wattage requirements of your AC unit to choose the right generator size. Consider consulting a generator installer to ensure your whole-house generator meets your electrical load needs.

You may need a permit for a portable generator if you’ll be installing a transfer switch for your primary residence or similar work. Otherwise, a permit for other uses may not be necessary. Check your local building codes or ask a local generator installer for more information about your local regulations.
