"Would rehire in a minute. Removed and thoroughly cleaned our screens. Cleaned the window wells. Wiped the trim as necessary. Informed us of hard water marks from sprinkler system; used a special product to really clean those windows. Mark loves his job and it shows. While we enjoyed talking he kept working. Am going to use his service to pressure wash our house next time it needs it. Highly recommend Midwest Professional Window Cleaning"

Window Cleaning questions, answered by experts

You should avoid using abrasive materials and harsh chemicals when cleaning windows. Abrasive tools like scrubbing pads, rough cloths, or steel wool can permanently scratch and damage the glass. Harsh chemical cleaners containing alcohol or ammonia can damage window treatments, frame materials, and special features like tinting. It is also best to use distilled or filtered water instead of hard water, which can leave spots or streaks. For best results, use a clean microfiber cloth to wash the glass and old black and white newspapers to dry it without leaving streaks.

Yes, with special treatments that help repel water spots and grime build-up.

Costs depend on fabric type, drape size, cleaning method, and whether additional services like pressing or deodorizing are included.

It depends on the company and the services it provides. If a cleaning company is just washing the outside of the windows, the pro may only wash the glass panes. But if they’re washing the inside and outside, they most likely bundle cleaning the sill and frame into the cost. It’s best to ask before you schedule a service to see if the company will charge additional fees.

Because the built-in blinds are encased in glass, they should not get dusty. You might, however, find that your door’s window panes get dirty. If that is the case and you wish to clean your patio door’s glass, first remove any loose debris with a small vacuum or brush. Next, fill a bucket with warm water and some mild dish soap. Dip a clean rag into the bucket and wet the glass on your patio door. Dry the glass with a clean microfiber cloth.
