Had a tech out too as they continuously called me to schedule service making me believe had purchased an annual power wash. Guy came out said it was just a sales call so I sent him away. If I'd been informed while he was here that it I didn't act before a certain date I would be charged I would've been able to make a more educated decision."

Asphalt driveway sealer lasts approximately one to three years. Although the industry standard is to add fresh sealant every two years, this ultimately depends on where you live. Your driveway is subjected to elements like harsh sunlight, freezing temperatures, precipitation, and extra wear and tear that comes from foot traffic and heavy cars. If you start noticing small cracks or uneven drying on your driveway, it’s a sign that your previous seal coat has run its course and your driveway needs a new one.

The cost of asphalt driveway repair is usually similar to the cost of average concrete driveway repairs, but maintaining asphalt tends to be less expensive on a per-instance basis. Ask your contractor for information on timing before the install, and if there’s rain in the forecast, postpone the job.

Contact companies with positive customer reviews and Better Business Bureau (BBB) ratings, and ask for customer references from any company you’re considering hiring to seal your driveway. It depends on the type of sealer. Some sealers can dry in as little as 4 hours, but many can take up to 48 hours to fully cure. To play it safe, don’t drive on your driveway for two days after sealing.
