"Chris contacted us by text within 30 minutes of searching on Angi's List. I sent a picture and described the issue. He called and came shortly after. He diagnosed the issue and after making a run to the store to buy the needed items, he fixed it (now works like new) and cleaned up the area. "Very professional, honest and courteous. Very hard workers! Had popcorn ceilings repainted, living room, kitchen, two bathrooms, and one bedroom painted also. Richard is more meticulous than I am, and I thought I was fussy. They help with the set up of moving furniture, and their clean up is fantastic. Not one drop of paint anywhere. "I initially purchased a "Big Deal" for painting a few small exterior areas. Later that summer, following a city home inspection, I hired Kiss Coatings to paint the remainder of the house Kiss Coatings did a thorough job and were respectful when it came to communicating and cleaning up. However, they promised to return the following summer to do any necessary touch-up painting, which they did not do. I sent repeated messages to ask them to follow through on a couple of areas but I never received a response."

The overhang, or nosing, of deck steps is another area that will be covered in building code requirements. The noses on your deck steps should have a minimum overhang of ¾ inch. For safety, usability, and code compliance, the nosing of deck steps should not extend past 1¼ inches.

Applying too much sealer to a deck might seem like extra protection, but it can cause more harm than good. Wood is a porous material with a limited capacity to absorb liquids. When you go overboard with sealer, the excess can't soak in and instead forms a film on the surface. This leftover layer is prone to peeling, cracking, and trapping moisture, ultimately defeating the purpose of sealing in the first place. 

Ideally, a gate should be able to swing both in and out. However, if it can only open in one direction, it is generally best for it to swing inward.
