When something is wrong at your own home, its no small thing. Others might think the project is small or unimportant, but the little things make a big difference when it isn’t just a house, but it’s your home. At Hardworking Handyman, we work hard to make your home be what you want it to be. We believe that no project is too minor because you, your family, and your home are worth it.
"Shawn was on time, kept me informed of work done. His estimate was reasonable and any changes were talked about before the work was done. Shawn does excellent work in a timely manner, very thorough. He is honest and a kind person. I would highly recommend!"

We are different than your average tree service company. We are not tree cutters, we are trained Arborists and we value trees. We look at tree removal as a last resort solution to a problem. Many times were able to arrive at a solution to your problems with some of the other services we offer, such as pruning, cabling and bracing, or plant health care. Unfortunately, there are situations where the only solution is for the tree to come down. When thats the case, we carefully choose the appropriate combination of techniques to get your tree on the ground quickly and safely.
"Steve is a stand up guy. I was impressed with his work and especially the clean up afterwards.
His prices were also better than others I found.
Highly recommend!"

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts
Wood stains last anywhere from two to five years, depending on exposure to the elements, your local climate, the type of stain, and the surface it’s on. For instance, vertical surfaces last longer than horizontal surfaces. Some types of woods, like dense hardwoods, will require a recoat yearly, as they are too dense for the stain to absorb. In any event, apply a recoat every 2 to 4 years. As for storage, a can of unopened stain can last up to 5 years, though results may vary.
You can use latex or acrylic paint outdoors. Although acrylic paint tends to last longer outside, it also costs more, so if you’re painting the outside of your house, for instance, latex paint is often a go-to option. However, acrylic will be your best choice if you want to spend some extra money for added durability.
If you’re deciding between limewash versus whitewash, know that both have a chalky matte appearance. Limewash is made from lime, water, and sometimes pigment, while whitewash consists of lime, water, white chalk, and binders (though you can get a similar look with watered-down white paint). Whitewash has fewer options for color customization, and it sits on surfaces instead of being absorbed into them, which can trap moisture. Whitewashing costs less—about $1.40 to $4.20 per square foot.
There are several ways to make a wooden fence more visually appealing and keep it that way for years to come.
Treat the fence with a wood sealant to protect it against the elements. It’s recommended to reseal a fence every two to three years, but if you live in a harsh climate, you may want to do it more frequently than that.
Restore the fence if it’s old, corroding, or fading. That includes cleaning it and making small repairs where needed.
Paint the fence in a color that you like, whether that’s a simple white or more vibrant option. Fences usually need to be repainted every one to three years.
Decorate the fence with planters, string lights, birdhouses, mirrors, shutters, and more.
You should wait three to six months after you buy it to paint pressure-treated wood. It needs time to dry from the chemicals applied to it. The paint will not adhere to the treated wood as well if it’s still wet from chemicals. To test the wooden boards, drip water onto them. If the wood absorbs the water, it’s ready for painting. If the water beads up, it’s not dry enough to paint yet. You can build your deck or fence while the treated wood is still wet, but you’ll need to paint it later.
