"Chris was extremely fast and reliable. Within the first contact, he was over to quote same day and scheduled us in the same week. During these times, getting someone to provide service and quality work is tough. With over 50 years of service and experience, it’s easy to go with Chris and his team. Chris lives up to his saying, “We aim to please!” Also, I can say if you are reluctant to get work done with Chris…Don’t worry about it!!!"

"    I was very pleased that the owner, Ron Diersing, worked with his crew side-by-side the first two days.  Ron answered every question that we had about the job.  We are extremely pleased .  Our neighbor stopped by this morning and I have already recommended Ron Diersing to him.  The ov erall experience was so much better than we ever expected.  I had expected a messy, arduous project and it was nothing of the kind.  Ron and his crew left the "campground even better than they found it " - no extensive repair to the lawn, no cleanup on our part and, most of all, we were left with such a pleasant feeling of satisfaction with a job extremely well done.  If you had such a category, I would give him an "A++."    Ron was more than professional and truly wanted to please his customer.  You can tell he takes great pride in his work - and his work actually is a sculpted accomplishment.  We can't say enough good things about Ron Diersing."

"Inconsistent mowing schedule.  We'd call Micah when it was over two weeks since they came and our lawn was way overgrown.  He'd tell us he'd get someone out to mow on a specific day and the crew never showed up.  This happened several times, but they'd get to it eventually.  This season, it started off the same way (inconsistent mowing, overgrown lawn).    The two times we did get our lawn services in 2014, the crew left lawn clippings all over our patio and flower beds (they are supposed to blow that off).   We emailed/called him and said if service didn't improve we would cancel.   We received no emails or returned calls, no apology when we actually cancelled the service.  Poor customer service, the only thing that would show up on time was our bill.  We are much happier with our new lawn service.

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Paving is a part of hardscaping, so all paving is hardscaping, but not all hardscaping is paving. Paving involves laying down concrete or asphalt, while hardscaping can also include the use of paving stones, bricks, gravel, wood, and more. Hardscape features that involve paving are considered permanent and will increase your property taxes, while some other hardscaping features—like those involving bricks, gravel, and paving stones—will not affect property taxes. Paving also typically requires a permit, while hardscaping features considered temporary will not.

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.

The recommended minimum amount for a paver base is 4 inches. From there, it depends on the kind of traffic the pavers will see and the current soil conditions. Two inches of paver base won’t create the amount of stability and support that pavers need to remain securely in place over time.

Paver driveways are durable and aesthetically pleasing, but they do have a few cons. For instance, paver driveways are often more expensive than asphalt and concrete driveways. They also make it easier for weeds to grow where the separate pavers meet up. They may also be more likely to settle over time.

Outdoor kitchens get wet and are sometimes next to pools. To avoid accidents, go with a non-slip material like concrete, brick, or rubber. Avoid materials like ceramic and porcelain, as they are known to be quite slippery. Wood and composite flooring can be slippery if untreated, so make sure to stain or finish these materials.
