Customers say: True professional

"both front and backyard. I had Mario's Landscaping work on my yard since I had injured both my back and hip. They did everything I asked and with professionalism and all the workers were extremely friendly. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone that asks and I have other projects for my yard that I will be having them back."

"Brian D. Was very knowledgeable about the program and the company. He worked with me on getting a much better price than what I have been paying another lawn service company the past few years. Looking forward to seeing my yard make big improvements this year."

"They have been here once and did a great job on the front yard with liquid fertilizer. Used granular fertilizer on back waiting to hear back from Oasis on what results I should expect in the backyard. I do have a fence that blocked them from getting their machine with liquid fertilizer into the back. Will evaluate more than time goes on"

Lawns questions, answered by experts

How often you should maintain your yard depends on your climate and what season it is. A general rule of thumb is to maintain a lawn height of three inches.

In most cases, it’s better to remove rocks before adding mulch. Layering the two will restrict drainage and plant health, and can create an unpleasant texture underfoot.

Don’t pick up dirt after aerating. Even though it's tempting because soil cores are incredibly unsightly, these cores and the dirt they leave behind are ecologically important. This is what keeps your grass looking beautiful and growing healthily. The soil cores need two to three weeks to decompose, but you can swat them with a rake if their natural shape bothers you.

Yes, you can absolutely make your own mulch, and there are a few ways to go about it. First, you can lay down pine needles or mulched leaves if you’re mulching in the fall. In the spring and summer, you can use mulched grass clippings. Alternatively, you can lay down a few layers of newspaper in your garden and gently wet the paper to keep it in place.

Lazy composting involves putting leaves, grass clippings, and plant trimmings in a corner of your yard and letting nature take its course. There is no turning, watering, or balancing green and brown materials. It’s a low-effort, long-term approach that can take up to one or two years to create finished compost. It is perfect for gardeners who don’t mind waiting and want a no-fuss way to repurpose organic waste.
