"The team did an amazing job and I will be hiring again for additional projects. We had carpet installed onto our basement steps. Vinyl plank flooring installed in the kitchen, and some deck repair work. They came in and got to work and completed the project in one day. From the initial consult Bobby has been available and honest with us about the scope of work. We had a good experience and are more than pleased with the work"

"My kitchen was severely outdated from wallpaper to carpet on the walls to old fashion panelling on the countertops and backsplash. It was a time consuming process however my the walls needed quite a bit of repairing done but the end results were amazing!! Walls were painted light weight beige along with white trim. The counters were modified with a wood backsplash in which a paint kit from Lowe’s was applied to it and to the countertops. Paint goes a long way! Kitchen looks beautiful!!"

"This company and most particularly the owner David definitely go above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend this company. We not only had them doing painting but other things as well and we were extremely happy with the entire project they did for us. Will be using them again in the near future for some other projects. They had to work around the very rainy and wet weather we had but they were here every day rain or shine working to get the project done. Kudos to David, the owner, for his very meticulous and conscientious work ethic."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.

Whether to paint or stain a deck depends on your personal preference for appearance and budget. Stain provides a natural look with a range of undertones, is typically less expensive, and may only require one coat, but it does not last as long as paint. Paint offers a sleeker finish with a virtually unlimited color palette. Both options will protect your deck from outdoor elements like rain, snow, and general wear and tear.

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

The best paint for an older deck depends on the material and whether or not your deck already has a coat of paint. Generally, if your deck already has paint on it, you should choose the same type of paint when repainting the deck. For example, if an old deck has oil-based paint on it, stick with oil; if your deck has water-based paint, choose water-based paint.
