As I did the math, my old system was not efficient, nor could it supply the demand to regulate temperatures in my home. Juan fabricated, and quoted me very reasonably and stayed within budget and a little under due to his time less than expected. Very honest trustworthy. Juan Communicated very well as he found more issues the further he dug in to my ductwork. He address them and was very reasonable with his price due to him already being there on the job. Juan noticed other leaks in my plumbing, addressed them with me and fix them as he worked.I would definitely recommend J&R cooling. "

No, you cannot plug a generator directly into a wall outlet in your home. Plugging in a generator without an interlocking kit, extension cord, or wall outlet receptacle is incredibly dangerous and can cause back-feeding—power from the generator back-feeds into utility lines. Also, if the main power comes back on while your generator is on, it could damage the generator and cause a house fire.
While standby generators provide essential backup power, they can fail when you need them most due to lack of maintenance, fuel supply issues, dead batteries, electrical problems, or improper installation. To avoid costly failures, professional installation and regular maintenance are crucial. Licensed technicians ensure safety, uphold warranty requirements, comply with regulations, and provide expert servicing.
To reduce AC startup power for a whole-house generator, install a soft start kit or hard start capacitor, which lowers the initial surge by gradually ramping up the compressor. Using a smart load manager can also help by staggering startup loads, preventing a system overload and future costly repairs.
As long as they have enough fuel, whole-house generators can run for weeks at a time (400 to 500 hours) without suffering too much wear and tear. However, this type of extensive use isn’t ideal if you want to extend the life of your generator.
Two important points. First, some generators may need you to periodically check oil levels every day or so and refill as necessary for safe operation. Second, if your generator uses a fuel tank, keep it regularly full so it doesn’t suddenly shut off. Many backup generators can run through a full tank in a day when they are powering large portions of a home.
While diesel is relatively stable, it won’t last nearly as long as propane and you may have to replace it if it sits unused for too long.
