"Robert is a firendly, very professional all around fix-it-guy! He saved my bathroom renovation project! I originally hired Robert to install drywall in my master bathroom. Just prior to the install I broke a plubming fixture in the master bathroom. Without missing a beat Robert gave me an estimate for the plumbing repair as well as a slight enhancement (raising the shower head 4 inches, I'm tall). He completed the plumbing repair, testing the water seal then launched right into the dry wall project.. I'm a pretty finnicky guy when it comes to blemishes on the wall or visible seams yet cannot find a single fault in his work."

"I am really impressed and is my go to guy. I am a contractor myself and I use Eric on alot of my jobs and I also have him inspect alot of my work as I trust his judgement. Excellent customer service he is always responsive (unless he is on a job) and he is quick to respond to emergency calls and he will make a point to get to me as soon as he can. Very dependable and I count on him to be there when he says and do the work as he says. Erics pricing is more than fair. He is very knowledgeable in the trades and he was able to identify and fix an issue with a panel on my water heater that I did not even know existed. I actually have recommended to my landlord and previous landlord and they have called him back for additional work. Eric is very serious about his business. Good follow up even though I have never had to call Eric back, but if I did, he will address the issue immediately. I highly recommend."

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

Plaster is a beautiful finish but is labor-intensive to install and remove. It’s vulnerable to cracking and more sensitive to moisture variance than drywall. Installing plaster on a new wall is an expensive process that can take days to weeks, depending on the scope. Removing a plaster wall can also be quite expensive and time-consuming.

Whether Venetian plaster increases your home's value often depends on the buyer's preference. As a purely aesthetic upgrade, it doesn't add structural value in the same way a kitchen or bathroom remodel might. However, its beautiful and attractive appearance can make a home more appealing to potential buyers, possibly leading to more interest, higher offers, and increased competition when you sell.

Venetian plaster is a highly durable wall finish that becomes a rock-like substance once dried, making it last longer than most other wall finishes. Its lifespan can range from decades to centuries, potentially lasting a lifetime. Key factors influencing its longevity include the quality of the initial application, whether it's properly sealed against moisture, and how the wall is maintained and treated (e.g., how often it is touched or bumped). Due to its mineral content, it can also develop a patina over time.

You can repair plaster ceilings yourself after the cause of the ceiling damage has been addressed. However, the repair can easily take 5 hours and can be slightly challenging for those without previous experience. If you do decide to flex your DIY muscle, have a helper to help hold the ladder and pass you the tools for safety purposes.

While you should consult with a ceiling professional for larger cracks, especially if you’re not sure what’s causing your ceiling to crack, you can certainly try to repair small cracks on your own. If you’re up for the task, here’s how to repair ceiling cracks for $150 or less.
