"If you read all the reviews, he probably does good work if he will show up. Gave him a deposit to paint my house March 10, in July I haven’t heard back from him and called, said it should be done by the end of the month or so, it wasn’t. Called him in August said it should be done by the end of the month, it wasn’t. Called in September he said that should be done by the end of the month, September 23 still no word from him so I just canceled and got my deposit back."

This largely depends on your environment and how well the paint was sealed. Properly sealed chalk paint furniture that isn’t regularly dinged by toys or steel boots can last 5 years or—often significantly—longer. However, if it isn’t sealed correctly or is subject to regular wear and tear, you can expect the coat to last 3 years or less.

In most cases, you have to sand crown molding before painting. This is due to the nature and design of molding. Usually, just a bit of spackle and a putty knife before painting will do the trick. However, if there are significant cracks, find the source of the problem and fix it before moving forward.
