"We contacted Matt to demolish a very old deck and build a new Trex composite deck, stairs and railing. The entire base support structure of the old deck needed to be replaced, including attachment points to the home that were rotted due to poor design and flashing of the prior deck. When looking for a contractor we researched many options. We eliminated contractors who seemed to only occasionally build a deck, those who had a different primary focus area, and those who did not often do composite decking. Initially, we found Matt's business listed on the Trex website as a certified TrexPro Gold installer. After then reading his positive reviews across AngliesList, Facebook, & Google, and seeing photos of many projects that appeared to be the type of work we were looking for, we reached out. Communication was excellent from the initial quote through completion of the project. The quality of the work and attention to detail was excellent. "Marcus originally promised the job would be done in less than 2 weeks, and 9 weeks later, he quit the job without finishing. For the first 2 weeks, he used our personal tools because he brought no tools to our home. He admitted to using our down payment for his personal expenses and thus he could not purchase materials for our job. He asked us for the next payment in advance for flooring, then subsequently admitted to lying about ordering flooring (he again used the funds on personal expenses), which we ultimately had to buy ourselves and have him install because we couldn't trust him to purchase materials or with any more of our money. He improperly reinstalled our dishwasher causing a major leak that we had to hire a plumber to fix. We were able to agree on Marcus paying a cash refund for the delays and unfinished work, but after significant delays. I would not recommend."
