"I highly recommend Lawton Land Management! They cleared branches and brush from our yard quickly and did an outstanding job. From the first message, they were incredibly responsive and had us scheduled within 24 hours. The work was completed efficiently, and they were respectful, courteous, and professional throughout the entire process. It’s hard to find a company that’s this reliable and easy to work with. We will definitely use them again for future projects!"

"We had a pretty high priority project, as some dead branches were hanging precariously over our electrical lines. Sweeney's gave us an estimate, executed the job the next weekend. The tree was pretty hard to reach, so we were impressed with their speed and quality."

"These guys were great. Half a large black walnut tree fell on my house. Carterâ s came that day to give me an estimate and came back the next day to take the tree down. Tree came down with no damage to my house and no damage to the young plantings I have around the tree. They stayed late to do the final clean up. Would definitely hire again."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Licensing requirements for arborists, also known as tree surgeons, vary by state and municipality. Many areas require a license, which often involves specialized education and experience. Even if not mandated, it's wise to hire a licensed professional as they tend to have more experience. Beyond licensing, look for certifications from organizations like the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) or the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), as this indicates a higher level of expertise. Certified arborists must typically pass a comprehensive exam. Always confirm that the arborist has a business license and is fully insured to protect yourself from liability. Seeking positive recommendations from local homeowners is also a good step in finding a qualified professional.

If an arborist is certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), the highest level of certification available is ISA Board Certified Master Arborist. According to the ISA, this credential is reserved for arborists “who have reached the pinnacle of their profession.” Check your arborist’s credentials before hiring to confirm their level of training and expertise.

Depending on the severity of the damage, a tree might continue healing for years after a split or a break. Saplings can usually bounce back in the spring in one or two seasons, but larger trees might take a few years to regain their former strength. If your tree is showing strong growth and is not dropping limbs, you can consider it healed after the first two seasons.

The lifespan of a bird's nest depends on the species. The building process can take from two days to three weeks. Once built, the nesting period for baby birds can last from two to ten weeks before they leave the nest. While most young birds are ready in two to six weeks, some predatory species may need up to two and a half months. Some species nest four to five times per year, so a nest could remain in use for several months. For specific information about a particular nest's longevity, it is best to consult a wildlife professional.

When a palm tree no longer produces new fronds and old fronds start turning yellow-brown, that’s a sign the tree is dying. However, transplanted palm trees can show these signs for the first several months as they re-establish themselves. It’s best to keep watering and not give up on the palm tree until a couple of seasons have passed and you’re sure it’s not coming back to life.
