"We are so incredibly happy with the wallpaper Virginia installed. She did an amazing job and was thoughtful and detail oriented. The price was very reasonable considering the scope of the job. You can tell how passionate she is about her work."

"Rick’s painting precision restored our living room with cathedral ceilings from a dark, uninviting space to one that is now bright and welcoming. He was thorough yet extremely efficient with his time on the job. A wizard with the roller and a master with his cutting skills on the brush, allowed him to complete the job much faster than I anticipated. His prices are more than reasonable, and his dedication to get the job done right makes him the ideal guy for your next painting needs. Hire with confidence! "Had an accent wall and kitchen wallpapered... could not be happier! Doug is very skillful and the walls are amazing. He also painted another accent wall black and the entire living area a neutral color. He was back today for touch ups and my home is now ready for the Holidays!!! I plan on seeing him in the Spring for patio staining! As a senior citizen, l am very picky as to whom l let in my home... l was very comfortable with him being here. I thought his rates were reasonable and l have no hesitation recommending him (highly)!!!"

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

The color of the paint, its opacity, and the depth of the texture on the paper all affect how many coats of paint you need to apply to paintable wallpaper. You'll need at least two coats of paint to ensure even coverage. Don’t be surprised if you need to apply three coats if the embossing is very deep or if you use a dark color.

Options include bricks, natural stone, and concrete blocks. Choose based on durability, aesthetics, and budget.

You should be aware of the current wallpaper and interior trends before hanging it, especially if you are planning on selling or listing your home soon. Do people in your market tend to prefer bold designs and accent walls, or does having a simpler print all over seem like a better idea? Lastly, you want something that appeals to your aesthetic preferences; hanging wallpaper is an investment of your time and money after all.

Yes, many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, especially those made of vinyl or polyester. However, its success depends heavily on the level of moisture and ventilation. In bathrooms with good ventilation, such as those with fans, it can be a durable option. Peel-and-stick wallpaper may not adhere as well as traditional wallpaper in very humid conditions. For bathrooms that see a lot of moisture, like a kids' bathroom or a full bath with a steamy shower and poor ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.

If you prefer peel-and-stick to traditional wallpaper, you can skip the priming process. Many manufacturers don't require an additional primer if you’re installing peel-and-stick wallpaper to painted walls. However, if you’re applying peel-and-stick wallpaper to unfinished drywall, you’ll need to apply a primer first.
