"We had a small master bathroom (5' x 7') completely gutted (including removal of a corner shower stall and linoleum flooring) and remodeled. Unlike some contractors we have used previously, Nick and his crew were a pleasure to work with The major work was installing a tile shower, which ended up being much bigger (approximately 5' x 3') than the shower stall we had originally, and it turned out beautifully. - My wife and I agonized for days over the perfect tile layout, but Nick was able to make our design a reality with expert workmanship and no hassle. - The drain had to be relocated so that it was centered within the new space. Another contractor who had bid indicated he would have to cut through the ceiling on the floor below to complete the task (!). Nick instead obtained access from the bathroom itself by removing the sub-floor, thereby negating the need to repair the ceiling. In addition, he used the opportunity to reinforce the framing to support the poured concrete shower pan. - Nick removed all the drywall and installed cement board in the areas to be tiled. He then used a rubber liner as a waterproofing measure that extended almost one foot up the wall. - After the shower was tiled, he recommended installing a glass wall, which would enclose the shower but still let the beautiful tile work remain visible. In addition, we wouldn't have the cleaning hassles with a sliding door, and this proved to be a perfect solution. Nick also laid a ceramic tile floor in the remaining bathroom space (approximately 5' x 4'), including radiant electric heat underneath. Little electrical work was required, as we already had 220V wired for a baseboard electric heater and wall thermostat. But Nick did the leg work of picking out the required unit and control thermostat . The ceramic tile was laid per our design and matches the tiled shower beautifully The bathroom originally had wallpaper, which my wife and I removed with a steamer prior to Nick initiating the work. Needless to say, some drywall damage resulted, but Nick hired a subcontractor at a reasonable price (about $150) to put a skim coat on the wall. In addition, the original light fixture had no electrical box; the cable was just coming through a big hole in the wall. So the $150 included the drywall guy patching this hole, and Nick installed an electrical box in the perfect location to accept our new light fixture. Once the major work was completed, Nick capped the job by installing the toilet, vanity, sink and corresponding plumbing (including new shutoff valves which he concluded had reached end of life), medicine cabinet, and a towel bar. He also installed the thermostat and then talked me through on the phone how to set it up properly. The only reason he did not install the light fixture is because we didn't have an appropriate one on hand by the time he finished up. In fact, he pointed out that the hanging shades on the original fixture we picked out would prevent light bulb replacement due to interference with the medicine cabinet; other contractors we have used previously would not have been so conscientious. Throughout the 5 or 6 days he was actually on the job, he was always available to answer my questions via call or text. He was always professional and never once got agitated. And you can tell Nick takes pride in his work as his workmanship is top notch, which is saying something since I am a bit of a perfectionist. To sum up, there really is no other choice for your bathroom remodeling project. Nikolay Lozanov from Nick's Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling is the man for the job!"

"We hired thevcompany to install two large new windows in our home. This required cutting the holes as well as building the windows and installing them. The sales staff was terrific in helping us figure out what we needed. The installation staff was amazingly quick. It was mid winter and they installed both these large windows in just two days of work. It was far less disruptive to our house and we thought it was going to be. We did estimates on site with about four other companies before choosing Wonder Windows. Their prices were the best as well. We are happy with the choice and the windows."

"Our residence has had water in the basement since we purchased it 30+ years ago. Last fall, we hired a landscape architect to assess the problem and make recommendations to fix it. This year we decided to bite the financial bullet and install a comprehensive drainage system. Unless we acted, the structure would soon be deteriorating past a point of no return. I got 2 quotes from other companies, and after getting over the sticker shock, decided to contact Woodford, who we had heard, though expensive, is the premier structural renovation company in our area. I was surprised when their quote was not that much higher than their competitors. I prefer not to disclose the exact cost. If anyone reading this needs to know this, they can contact me directly. The estimator, David, was competent and professional. Soon after his visit, I received a letter from the President and Vice President of Woodford Bros describing their goal : to have 100% satisfied customers and zero misunderstandings, and the means that will be taken to achieve that. Included with the letter was a list of 50-60 references (names and phone numbers) in my and adjacent zipcodes for whom they had done work, and an invitation to contact as many of these people as I wanted. My project was small enough that Woodford required no money down, they expected no payment whatsoever until the contract has been fulfilled to my satisfaction. The project took a month to complete. The Crew Chief, Bill, ably assisted by Matt and Don, did everything possible to prevent any misunderstandings and to have a 100% satisfied customer. This they more than achieved. Watching Don at the helm of the CAT in the tightest quarters imaginable was like watching a professional sports event and a modern dance all rolled into one. The swale he made is a graceful contour that suits the setting to perfection. Don is a true artist. So is Matt. After making 2 radii on the front sidewalk, Matt went on to make 3 more on the rear sidewalk. The sidewalk is not only functional, like the swale, it too is a thing of beauty. I am an extremely satisfied customer and recommend Woodford without reservation. They are a premier organization, the kind of company and people you wish everyone was."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

If you’re installing hurricane ties, consider other storm-proofing projects. You could call a window pro to install storm windows, get in touch with a door installer to add storm doors, or just ask your hurricane tie installer what other projects they’d recommend you get done at the same time.

The cost of storm door installation is influenced by several factors, including the door's material, type, size, and any customizations. Additional features like high-efficiency models, enhanced security locks, or special screens can also increase the price. Labor costs will also play a role in the final expense.

Yes, professional installers use weather-resistant materials to protect the dish and cabling from environmental damage.

Most homeowners can expect to pay between $186 and $680, with the cost of installing storm doors averaging $432, including both materials and installation. Labor costs range from $75 to $400, depending on the complexity of the job; however, paying for a professional helps save you time and ensures proper installation. If you go the DIY route, you could spend anywhere from $250 to $1,000 for just the labor kit, which includes the door and hardware. You’ll also need to budget for tools, like a power drill and level, if you don’t already have them.

Storm doors provide an additional barrier for your main entryway and offer several features that can help deter intruders. Many models have glass panels, which let you see who’s outside without opening the door, and others come with their own locks, creating an extra layer of security. For the highest level of protection, it’s best to combine storm and security doors, security cameras, and alarm systems.
