"What an absolute DREAM! Correct Energy is an incredible company. Knowledge, professional and efficient! I contacted a few insulation companies but the proposed methods were not through. Correct Energy and especially Ray’s knowledge and experience were above and beyond. CE came out to assess and spent a generous amt of time explaining EVERYTHING. CE came when they said they would. The crew was professional and spent a few days here. They left everything immaculate. My place is old, built in the 1940’s so many challenges came up that they handled like absolute pro’s. Their work has and will continue to save so much on energy, the difference of before and after is immediate and drastic. I can’t wait for them to come back and do my basement next! I can't say enough about this company. Pros work here!!! Hire them!!! You will not be disappointed.."

"I'm a General Contractor (Jon Beer Contracting is my company) and recently worked with Corey and his team from Prestige Energy Solutions. We are doing a combination of a gut renovation and a new build on my own personal home that had a lot of tricky details and moving parts. From start to finish his team was professional, attentive, clean and skilled. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him for our future insulation needs."

"Excellent experience from start to finish! The home energy audit showed me where I was losing heat and areas that needed attention. Getting the house sealed and getting blown in cellulose and an attic cap installed professionally is something I would recommend to any homeowner. Expediant energy came to install it soon after the initial estimate. which in this winters bitter cold temps is something I really appreciate. I Noticed the difference immediately. Anyone who is paying for heat and looking to improve their insulation should give these guys a call you won't regret it!"

Small jobs welcome

"I had found HV Home Solutions on an online search for professionals in my area for insulation. We were dealing with a cold house that was drafty and were looking to get an evaluation done to keep the house a bit warmer. Michael was very responsive, he was fast to respond to my inquiry, come to provide and estimate and start the job. He was able to show me colder areas in the house and provide solutions to rectify them. We ended up hiring him to install blown cellulose insulation in the attic and then added on some additional jobs that he suggested for the house including sealing off a drafty closet that was built into the knee wall, sealing the rim joist of the house in our basement and adding some insulation to the exterior walls of our family room. Michael even found an area in our basement that was not closed off, finding an open area that was hidden by some batt insulation leading to the Bilco door entry area and he was able to close that off and stop any cold air and drafts from coming into the house. He was even able to install new attic stairs for us- a job that he did beautifully. Michael was always available for questions and answered his phone every time I called. Even after the job was complete, he was still accessible for any question I had. I was very pleased with the pricing and dependability that HV Home Solutions offered and I will hire them again for any job needed in my house, including handy work. I am glad that I found them!"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Drywall insulation costs around $1,800, on average, but prices can range from $500 to $4,500, depending on a few different factors. The following things are important considerations to make when pricing out your insulation project:

  • Square footage of insulation

  • Type of insulation

  • Climate in your area and the insulation R-value required

  • Whether or not your walls are already finished

  • Accessibility of the area

  • Whether or not you need old insulation removed first

While fiberglass is dangerous to work with, it’s a perfectly safe material once it’s installed. If you’re tackling the installation yourself, make sure you take the proper safety precautions and wear the right gear to avoid skin and eye irritation and lung complications. Working with a professional insulation company can mitigate these risks.

Yes, brick houses are better insulated, because the bricks slow down the passage of air from the outside to the inside and vice-versa. This helps to stabilize the internal temperature of the home. When combined with proper residential insulation, brick houses are more efficient and better insulated than other types.

Several types of insulation are effective for crawl spaces, with spray foam and rigid foam boards being two of the best options. Closed-cell spray foam insulation is a strong choice because it effectively repels moisture, resists biological growth, seals the air, and provides excellent thermal protection, especially in hard-to-reach areas. Rigid foam insulation boards are another excellent material as they insulate well, resist water damage, and will not settle over time like fiberglass or cellulose.

There are many reasons one bedroom may be hotter than the rest of the house. The sun will quickly heat a south-facing bedroom with a large window, especially if it lacks quality curtains. If the room has poor insulation, this could let more warm outside air in. Upstairs bedrooms are often hotter than ground-floor rooms because heat rises. Finally, rooms further away from the air conditioning unit may heat up a lot if the system is not properly balanced.
