"Angela for one person does the work of three people. She’s impeccably clean, she even helped me re-organize my music room because she has an eye for interior decorating, and she gets it all done within a short period of time. I am so happy I found her. Coming home from a long day at work on a clean house as something money can’t buy. Thanks, Angela!"

"We have received excellent customer satisfaction from the several projects (for wood, painting and wrought iron) done for us by Twin Wood Artisans Stain & Shine. While their workmanship has been top notch, the customer relationship has been wonderful, too. For example, they are good listeners, keep their appointments, call if they are delayed in traffic, and even drop off touch-up paint to remedy any future needs. We have found in them, 5-Star Quality work performed by very nice people. Looking forward to our next project. THANK YOU, Steve, Cindy and Mike?Twin Wood Artisans Stain & Shine. "Very powerful new steam extraction machine, cleaned two bedroom carpeting and two Lane upholstered fabric rocker/recliners.  Carpeting was old and quite stained, now looks new!  Rocker/recliners were purchased used, cleaned up beautifully and now look as if I purchased them brand new.  Great job at great price, will definitely use Quality Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning again!

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Ongoing maintenance of your leather furniture is the only way to prevent it from peeling and cracking. Real leather will peel and crack as it dries out. Leather conditioners are a great way to protect your leather furniture from drying out, and you’ll need to apply it about twice each year. It’s also a good idea to keep abrasive materials away from your leather to prevent cracking and peeling, including belt buckles, shoes, and multi-surface cleaners, especially those that contain alcohol.

Doing your own upholstery work is possible, but it’s typically a better idea to leave the work to professionals. Without experience and the proper tools, it’s difficult to get a professionally finished appearance for your furniture, and many DIYers end up spending money on tools and materials only to hire a professional when they can’t get the fabric to look right. If you have reupholstery experience, feel free to give it a shot. However, if you’re not confident in your skill level or you’re working with antiques, it’s worth the money to hire a pro.

When hiring an upholsterer, look for a pro with experience in your chair type, positive reviews, and a portfolio of completed projects. Ask about their process, timeline, warranty, and whether they are insured. Getting multiple quotes from reupholsterers in your area and checking their references can help ensure quality and fair pricing.

If your usually super soft couch feels crusty and rough after cleaning, it could be that you haven’t removed the cleaning product properly, you used too much, or you applied the wrong type. Always check the couch tags to select the right cleaning product, read application instructions carefully, and test on an inconspicuous corner. For fabrics such as microfiber, you can soften and fluff crusty fibers using a soft-bristled brush.

Yes, you can reupholster antique furniture, and it’s a great way to extend the life of your pieces and keep them looking fresh and new for years to come. In fact, since reupholstering furniture is significantly more affordable than replacing it, reviving antique furniture can be a cost-effective way to keep that family heirloom usable for much longer. It’s usually a good idea to leave antique reupholstering to a professional, as they will have the tools and expertise to ensure the piece isn’t damaged and looks professionally finished.
