"Outstanding customer service. Punctual. Personable. Reasonably priced. First time in my life a locksmith has rekeyed a lock and the action was as smooth as glass. Highly recommend."

"Job well done. Locksmith left the hardware in place as is and changed the internal key mechanism. I the original hardware placed in my front door by this company 4+ years ago."

"After a night out, I left my keys at my parents place on the south shore, called a few locksmiths, but Tony at Key Craft was the first one to actually pick up, even at a weird hour. He gave me a realistic ETA, and showed up when he said he would. No hassle, no attitude just super professional and clearly knew what he was doing. He got me into my house quickly and without any damage. Honestly I was a little nervous about calling someone that late at night, but Tony was very polite, and even cracked a couple jokes to lighten the mood. Definitely felt like I was in good hands. Would recommend him to anyone in a bind day or night. Thanks!!"

"I was accidentally locked out of my bathroom that morning.
Everything went very well with M&D when I called for their help. The customer rep who answered the telephone had great customer service skills. M&D were quick to respond and they managed my expectations around the locksmith's time of arrival. M&D sent a very competent worker named Daniel who assessed the situation and described all my options and prices before moving forward. Of course, I would have liked the total price to be lower but the locksmith was so professional that I decided to replace other old/missing locks in the house as well.
Daniel went back to the store, collected the additional door knobs and locks and returned to complete the rest of the job. He moved quickly and efficiently and was very pleasant to interact with. In addition, he gave me quick tutorials on a couple of the new locks. I was very pleased to have so much work done after having postponing the lock changes for so long. M&D turned my bathroom lock-out accident into a positive experience!

"Choice responded quickly but the insurance plan does not pay for all doors to be re-keyed unless you have very few locks. The number of locks covered by the insurance is determined by keyholes, not doors! (Read your policy!) You will likely have to shell out some money to have this essential new-home service if you have more than four keyholes. The locksmith they called was EXCELLENT and made all our locks completely functional. We will happily hire the locksmith again (R.L Locksmith LLC). We paid $201.81 (plus another $50 for some door re-alignment not included in the re-keying benefit) and Choice paid $100 for the job."
The cost to hire a locksmith ranges from $50 to $200 but can cost up to $500. Cost factors vary but may include your location, the urgency of the request (emergencies typically cost more), and the complexity and size of the job. With many homes moving from standard mechanical locks to smart and electronic security and locking systems, locksmiths may charge more for the expertise and equipment needed to do the work required by these systems.
Yes, many locksmiths can usually program a key fob for your car. The cost for car dealerships to replace lost or stolen key fobs can get expensive. Alternatively, check with a local professional locksmith to review your options and prices.
Typically, it’s cheaper to rekey your existing locks than to install new ones. The cost to rekey ranges from $80 to $160, while the cost to change locks ranges from $50 to $200, depending on the type of locks. The value of rekeying vs. replacing locks depends on the condition of your locks and whether or not you already want to replace them.
Yes, the cost to hire a reliable, professional locksmith is worth it, especially if you have a larger job like replacing all the locks and doorknobs in your house. If you’re locked out of your home or car, a locksmith has the tools and the knowledge to get you back in without risking damaging your property. You can also hire a locksmith to install or replace a doorknob or lock.
