"A long over due review. From the initial consultation to the jobs end. Extremely seamless. We had our kitchen remodeled and ton of extras we threw at him. Jose from day one was extremely professional from start to finish and takes pride in his work. So you can expect perfection on finish work. Alta gave us a fair priced estimate and a very detailed estimate of scope of work from start to finish. No surprise charges. The work was done in a timely fashion and completed on the timeline set forth. We were and are very happy with the quality of work and the professionalism throughout the project. Jose and Alta Renovations will be hired by us again to do our bathroom. I am attaching a link to the finish project below [*** Link removed ***]"

"Our bathroom remodel was a great experience, as everything went very smoothly. Bobby and his team worked well to meet our needs. Bobby is super friendly, outgoing and was a pleasure to deal with. Bobby is attentive, forthcoming and knowledgeable in all areas, giving us suggestions and input along the way. He listened to what we wanted, stayed within our budget and even helped sort out how to put our personal touches into the plans. Lenny, at the shop helped us while we were deciding and choosing the style and design we wanted. Angel and the rest of the crew were hard working, courteous and cleaned up after a hard day of work. We would highly recommend using Fine Design. In fact, a testament to highly recommending them, we just had them start another project in our home. Thanks to Bobby, Lenny, Angel and the whole team at Fine Design."

"They replaced my bathtub, installed a new vanity, put in new lights and painted a wall cabinet. Not only were they punctual, but very polite and reasonable. I highly recommend them and will use them in the future."

"Jimmy was here on time for both the estimate and start of work. Being a plumbers son it's hard for me to justify hiring someone for something i used to do all the time. At 76, i just cant get under sinks anymore. Jim wasn't cheap but priced the job fairly. I would recommend him for plumbing, neat, on time and competitive."

Small jobs welcome

"I was very pleased and satisfied with the work that Loja Renovation provided. They replaced and installed a medicine cabinet by removing old tiles and replaced with new tiles to accommodate the new one. Patched a wall where a bathroom cabinet was removed. And replaced a tub spout with a new one. I would hire the again and recommend them to others."

Tub Shower Conversion questions, answered by experts

Most modern showers have a prefabricated base made from fiberglass or plastic, such as acrylic or polyurethane. Nonetheless, concrete mortar is still the traditional, go-to base for a custom walk-in shower.

You’ll need to add a waterproofing liner or membrane between the layers of mortar to keep moisture out. From there, you can top it with whatever type of tile you like to create a spa-like custom look. Be sure to include these considerations in your budget for the cost of a walk-in shower.

The lifespan of a shower base depends on how often the shower is used, how it’s used, and how well it’s maintained. Acrylic and fiberglass shower bases last 10 to 15 years, while tile shower bases can last up to 20 years. However, if two people often use the shower at once or if heavy items are regularly dropped in the shower, the shower base’s lifespan might be shorter than average.

Adding a shower to a half bath transforms it into a three-quarter bath. Compared to converting a half bath into a full bath, this type of conversion is a more affordable way to add functionality and accessibility. This project can add around 5% to 6% to the value of your home, especially if you only have one full bathroom or your only shower is on an upper level. This is a common upgrade for a ground floor when homeowners are hoping to age in place.

Yes, your shower pan goes underneath your tiling and helps prevent excess water from seeping into the floor. Without the shower pan under your tile, water will seep through the grout and into the flooring. This will eventually lead to mold growth and serious water damage that could cost thousands of dollars to fix.

There are three main types of shower valves: pressure-balancing, thermostatic, and diverter. Pressure-balancing and thermostatic valves are both considered mixing valves because they regulate water flow and temperature, but they do so in different ways. A pressure-balancing valve senses changes in water pressure, such as from a flushing toilet, and adjusts the incoming hot and cold water to maintain a consistent temperature; these typically use a single knob. A thermostatic valve uses a thermostat to precisely control the water temperature and requires a separate control to adjust the water volume. A diverter valve directs the flow of water from one fixture to another, such as switching from a tub faucet to a showerhead in a tub-shower combination.
