"I couldn't ask for a better contractor. John Puma and his crew were outstanding. Extremely professional  and punctual.
When I first met John I got a positive vibe that he was going to be the one to do the job. I interviewed several companies and John gave me a fair price for the work he was going to do. He was very knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done. I was getting water in my basement and we came to the conclusion that water proofing the foundation wall was going to be the rout to go.
He also re-pitched my pavers in the yard so that the water would not lay in the yard after every rain storm. He also added proper drainage in the yard to divert the water away from the house.
After the water proofing was done he and his crew poured new concrete throughout the driveway.
If you are looking to get this type of work done, look no further. This company did it right.
Professional, knowledgeable and very clean when working. John and his crew were great.
Two major storms and not a drop of water in my basement now.... A+

"Very well. Malik and his team were efficient and competent. Above all, he was communicative and responsive throughout the process. He planned the world closely with me and made sure that I was aware of all plans and updates. My only concern was that he didn't take credit cards, which made tha arrangement awkward and costly for payment."

"AWESOME! That's the best way to describe Scott McMahon of Mac Tile. He completely gutted our bathroom and created a beautiful new one for us. He gutted the bathroom down to the studs and added new studs to make the room level all around. Then he moved the plumbing stack behind the toilet back 6 inches into the cavity of the wall, which created another 6 inches of space in our small bathroom, which made the bathroom feel much bigger. Now we have space to walk around each other when more than one of us is in the bathroom at the same time. He cleaned up sloppy electrical work left in the walls by the last contractor and ran all new home runs for the electric to our electric panel. He then installed all new plumbing, fixtures, vanity, lights, medicine cabinet, tub, and toilet. He did impeccable tile work, including a custom niche, which he framed in marble look quartz to match our marble look porcelain tile. He patiently installed a mosaic arabesque tile accent wall and was meticulous about matching up the tile to the 12X24 tile on the surrounding walls. He finished the job by installing barn style frameless shower doors and hanging anything we asked him to such as a shelf, towel bar, etc. Scott's work ethic is OUTSTANDING. He showed up with his assistant by 8:00 a.m. and worked 10 and 12 hours days everyday until our bathroom was done, knowing that it was the only shower in our house and that we were running out to the gym to take a shower everyday. He even worked from 8:00 a.m. one day until after 9:00 p.m. at night! He worked during a holiday weekend and even on Labor Day to get us back into our bathroom to be able to take a shower. He is absolutely meticulous about measurements. He showed us and explained every single step of the job as we were doing it, and lived by the mantra that he would only do in your house what he would do in his own house. He's an upstanding guy who is true to his word. He has vast experience in all phases of construction. Our bathroom came out fabulous and it was a truly quality job. He went above and beyond the scope of the job that we hired him to do. Scott's assistant even volunteered to cut up into smaller parts an old pool filter that we were throwing out that was too heavy to get to the curb! They were extremely neat and contained the construction area so that my whole house wasn't upset by the construction. They used tarps throughout, and as Scott worked, his assistant was constantly cleaning up and organizing the site. I can't say enough good things about how pleased we are with the way our bathroom turned out and the organized, clean, and professional way that Scott and his assistant worked during the course of the week and a half that it took him to do our job. I would highly recommend Scott McMahon and Mac Tile. Thank you Scott!"

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Charges correlate with surface size, settlement depth, and access, often yielding significant savings over concrete replacement.

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.

A slurry of cement, sand, and water is injected beneath the concrete to lift and stabilize it.

Mudjacking is your best bet for leveling concrete on a tighter budget. It’s less expensive than foam or grout mixture. For smaller, surface-level issues, you could also use a self-leveling compound, which creates an even surface over existing concrete—it’s a budget-friendly option suitable for DIY enthusiasts.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.
