"For a recent home renovation project, I worked with Mad City Windows & Baths, and I had an excellent experience. Throughout the process, the team communicated clearly and with professionalism and courtesy. They made sure the project was finished on schedule by being on time and working effectively. They paid close attention to detail and used materials and craftsmanship of the highest caliber. The installers left the area neat and orderly, showing respect for my house. All in all, the experience and service were excellent, and I heartily endorse Mad City Windows & Baths for any requirements pertaining to house"

"I wrote a review stating that it wasn't worth it.  However, I want to correct my past review. The assessment of the dampness for the basement was $29.00 through Angie's List, which I stated other companies would do it for free.  I didn't realize that Fadale doesn't get any of the $29.00; Angie's List receives this money.  If I had contacted Fadale directly, they would have done the assessment for free.  The assessment was complete.  The gentleman was professional and explained everything clearly.  After having several assessments from different companies, the price that Fadale quoted was reasonable and one of the lower prices in comparison to the other companies. I believe the company is a honest company and has an excellent reputation."

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

Rubbing alcohol won’t damage most countertops, and you can mix it with water to create a disinfecting spray to keep your kitchen clean. It’s safer than using bleach on countertops, which can stain and cause discoloration. Be careful with rubbing alcohol when it comes to lacquered or varnished surfaces, though.

Professionals use resin fillers, diamond polishing pads, and sealants to restore the surface.

You can resurface existing countertops as long as they’re not significantly damaged. Of course, it does depend on the material. Wood, natural stone, quartz, and even laminate are all good candidates for resurfacing. If you have tile, you may want to just replace the damaged tiles rather than resurface the entire countertop.

Acid can seriously damage granite countertops and lead to etching and erosion. This is why cleaning with vinegar isn’t recommended. Other acidic items that you should keep away from your granite countertops include:

  • Citrus

  • Acetone nail polish remover

  • Tomatoes

  • Ammonia

In addition, always steer clear of using bleach on or around your granite as it will degrade the countertop’s sealant quickly.

You can’t change the color of the stone, but you can update granite countertops without replacing them by painting them. Because granite is a porous material, you’ll want to seal them first before painting them so that the paint doesn’t hurt the surface. This is important because you don’t want to devalue your counters by damaging the original surface; even if you don’t like the color now, you or a new homeowner may want to remove the paint someday and return them to their original color. You can also cover them with
