We are a group of sub-par contractors who steal people's money and sometimes we may do some work which is will not meet your standards and more important is the fact that the work will fall apart days after we have been paid.

At ERC Environmental we make dealing with your old oil tank easy - our tank removal, replacement and soil clean-up services come at a single flat rate. No surprise fees or hidden charges; we make the process stress-free from beginning to end. Our services include everything from digging out your old tank to locating your new one, even ensuring your outdoor space is returned to its former glory. Ancient, leaking oil tanks pose a problem for homeowners, often when they come to sell. You might be concerned about the cost of oil tank removal and replacement because many contractors won't give you the final fee until the project is complete. That's where ERC Environmental is different. We quote you up front for the job, so you know exactly how much you'll have to shell out. It won't cost a single cent more. Contrary to popular belief it takes a matter of hours to remove and replace an oil tank – not days or weeks – and you won't be without heat or water during the process. ERC Environmental is a state certified, licensed, reputable and professional oil tank removal and cleanup company. Talk to us about your tank today.

"I had a good experience with the oil tank removal. However, they weren’t clear about charges. I agreed to hire them because in shopping for estimates they were the middle man. However, look at the estimate carefully. If any permits need to be pulled they put “permit”-TBD and charge $150 to obtain the permit. So when I received there estimate I thought that was the complete estimate and there would be no other charges. This was not true. I paid half up front and the other half was due when the job was complete. When the job was complete I had an addition charge of $400 for obtaining the permit and the permit itself. When I explained my situation and asked that they give some type of credit with the $150 they threatened to sue me and put a lien on my house. Do I think it would go that far “NO”. Attorneys are very expensive. However, I will not be referring them to anyone because of the sneaky manner in which they charge and also the threatening manner in which they ended the job. It’s not worth the headache though. If $400 is going to make such a difference I will pay it. Stay away charged are not clear. When they found out how much the permit would cost I believe they should have informed me as well as informed me that it would cost $150 to obtain the permit."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Hard soil could be a sign of overly dry dirt, either from poor drainage or drought. It's important to test the nutrient levels, density, and drainage capacity of your soil to see if it's absorbing water properly. Begin by adding a light layer of water and observing how long the soil retains moisture. If you experience a good deal of runoff, you may need to aerate your lawn, apply a wetting agent, or hire a professional for a closer look.

A mini excavator can dig between 5 and 11 feet deep, depending on the type and size of the mini excavator. Mini hydraulic excavators are more powerful and can reach deeper into the earth, but electric models have a more limited range. Mini excavators over two tons in size are also more powerful and able to dig as deep as 11 feet.

Yes, an excavation company is the best option for land grading and yard leveling. General landscapers might be able to tackle these projects, but an excavation company will do a better job because they’re used to operating the necessary heavy machinery. Landscapers might opt to do the work manually, which takes much longer and could cost you more in labor fees. Finally, excavation companies will understand local regulations and know when you need permits to legalize the work, while a landscaper might not.

The digging depth will depend on the size of the trencher you use. Even smaller units can dig up to 4 feet deep, which is plenty for a DIY job. However, much larger trenchers can reach a depth of 18 feet and are better used by a team of pro contractors, not a single DIYer. As with all home improvement projects, use the right tool for the job and proceed with caution.

Silt fences should be trenched 8 to 12 inches deep to prevent sediment-filled water from escaping underneath. It also helps to anchor the fence during wet, windy weather. The silt fence fabric often has a red line to indicate the depth for digging. A good contractor will be familiar with the guidelines and regulations.
