"This was hands down the worst experience with a contractor we have ever had. They lied, made promises to secure the job and did not deliver. The quality of work on the yard is disgraceful. For instance, we have a severe weed problem in our yard and CRA assured us that after turning over the yard and laying down soil, the weeds would be suffocated. The yard continues to look like a jungle and when confronted, Chris the owner said it wasn’t their responsibility to maintain the lawn and we didn’t pay them to put down weed killer. This is how every single conversation went with these people. They refused to provide options to address the area of the yard where they discovered a large tree stump. The quality of the work of the deck is embarrassing. Chris told us several times that the work was complete and demanded payment; meanwhile there were still several safety and quality issues that that had to be addressed many times. These conversations were always difficult and met with a defensive demeanor. Especially from the office manager Debbie. She will kiss your *** and as soon as you challenge her she will immediately flip out on you. They are unresponsive until they need money from you and never want to address issues. Finally, we signed a contract on April 9th and this project was not complete until July 29th. Do not trust these people."

I answer all the phone calls, I do all the estimates, and I am on all the jobs. If I am not able to give you a quote over the phone for some reason, I will arrange to meet you on location for a fast, hassle-free estimate in person at the job-site. Most estimates take less than 15 minutes. Once you show me what has to be done and what needs to be hauled away, I will give you a free estimate, and the price will not change, and there is never any hidden fees at all. "We’ve used Giancola Contracting in the past and had a good experience so when we wanted to do more renovations we decided to go with them again. We had a number of items done in summer 2021 including taking down a wall to open up the living space, new hardwood flooring, new lighting, new appliances, and island installed, painting and some other small items. There were numerous issues with the work and we have been reaching out repeatedly since then to have issues fixed, however they have not rectified the issues claiming we owe a balance from the project which is not true at all. In addition, Andrew, the owner claimed that we never replied to him about a small balance due and that we never reviewed the final balance or replied to his emails which is not true at all. All of the calculations we did showed we paid in full. I sent him spreadsheets showing all the line item details of what was done and what we paid and I offered numerous times to review it over the phone with Andrew and he never replied or made himself available. He basically left us in the lurch with bad lighting (lights flickering, faulty dimmer switches installed, lightbulbs which have been discontinued so we can’t even find replacements, etc) which we’ve now spent a significant amount to fix, poorly installed flooring that isn’t holding up well, with numerous chips and scratches in addition to the floorboards coming up and delaminating. Some of the work was done really poorly, ie floorboards weren’t put the full way to the wall under the washer dryer, the cabinetry for the island kicks coming loose and falling off, the flooring was too high and had to be cut when the dishwasher was installed which now makes it impossible to fix or replace without pulling up the floorboards. There were many other issues. We had to find a new contractor who says he’s now “fixing someone else’s mistakes.” We’ve spent significantly more than Andrew claims we owe fixing all the issues so I’m reality, he owes us money. Andrew made it very clear to us when the majority of the job ended, that he was onto a much larger, more lucrative job on a townhouse in Brooklyn and left us high and dry. It is really unfortunate that after all the work we’ve done together, not to mention all of the referrals we gave to other people to use this contractor that he hasn’t come back to fix the issues."
