"Beautiful work! I didn't do their mowing service but took them up on tree cutting and clearing a small strip of land between our property and a corn field. Great, honest and quick! Will have them plow this winter. Hard workers"

"In addition to carefully and precisely cutting down our birch tree, Kyle ground down the stump, removed every bit of branch debris and blew away the sawdust, leaving the work sight tidier than when he began! I was very impressed by his professional work ethic and would recommend his service to all."

"Tree removal estimate was given on same day as request. Work was done on day scheduled exactly as discussed. Crew made every effort to clean up at the end of the day and left yard cleaner than before the beginning of project. Crew was focussed on doing a good job and was courteous in the completion of it. I would highly recommend this business for its professionalism, attention to detail, and all around good attitude about the whole project, from the giving of the estimate to final check with me that all was done according to my expectations. I recommend this business without reservation and would go with them again, without getting competitive bids. They show up and do the work."

"Very professional and timely. When I called to get my lawn mowed because my mower was broken Chris said he could have someone there in the next hour if that worked. I had to schedule later in the week but his crew showed up first thing in the morning just like he said. After everything was complete they asked if I was satisfied and they really did a great job. I could recommend this service with no problem to any of my friends or family. Great value and a great service with many different options available."

I have always had a passion for trees dating back to my dendrology classes at Miami University. That passion has fueled many years in the arboriculture industry as a crew leader and climber. I'm happy to consult with you on your trees or shrubs and options to explore to preserve them for the long-term. Being an ISA Certified Arborist, I'm always striving to keep up with industry standards and grow myself.

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If you ever want to see the literal fruits of your labor, you’ll need to prune your peach trees. Without pruning, the trees may not grow or bear fruit since the nutrients will be divided among too many offshoots to provide any with enough energy to produce the peaches. Plus, if parts of the peach tree become diseased or pest-ridden, pruning can nip those problems in the bud.

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.

The felling notch you make before you make the final cut will determine which way the tree will fall. The cut will be in a wedge or triangle, and the tree will fall from the highest point of the triangle. You can use this, as well as the process described above, to estimate where a tree will fall.

All of the tree root removal methods mentioned above are effective on any kind of root, whether it’s still growing or simply needs a gentle nudge to finish decomposing. The only difference is that larger roots tend to be harder to remove and may require multiple chemical treatments as well as manual labor to eradicate.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.
