"Tyler called me back right away when I contacted him to do a chimney repair. He came that same day to evaluate the work in person, and made room in his schedule to complete the work the next day, knowing that the repair was a prereq for having my roof replaced, and that the end of the season for chimney repair is approaching. Tyler explained what work he would do, shared before and after photos of the repair, and was conscientious in leaving the work area neat and clean. I found Tyler a pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend him !"

"Anthony Masonry and chimney did an excellent job clearing a ton of trees and vines from my property. They were efficient and pleasant to work with - would 10 / 10 higher this company again. I also had them do some stonework leading up to my house, which came out phenomenal."

Chimney Sweep questions, answered by experts

Yes, a bowl of vinegar can absorb smoke. If you want to use this method to reduce the smoke smell in your house, all you have to do is leave a bowl (or multiple bowls) of white vinegar out overnight. Alternatively, you can use bowls of baking soda, coffee grounds, or activated charcoal.

Burning a single palm tree stump, if you’re careful, is technically doable DIY. However, you should always take precautions to control the fire and do research if you’re burning multiple types of trees.

Some trees, such as ornamental trees, black cherry, and some oak trees, release toxins into the air when burned that can be irritating to your lungs (or even dangerous) to breathe in.

The first step in fire damage restoration is having a pro come in right away to help control moisture (if authorities used water to extinguish a fire at your home). Skipping moisture removal puts your home at risk for invasive mold and rot that can cause added property damage and health issues. Once you have the bulk of the water out, you’ll need to run blower fans for 24 to 72 hours to remove moisture.

Repairing a fire-damaged home could cost anywhere from $2,000 to $200,000 or more—it all depends on the extent of the damage and the quality of the materials you use. In most cases, your homeowner’s insurance company will cover the majority of the repairs. If you’re buying a home with fire damage, though, it’s best to get an estimate from a fire damage restoration company to estimate the repairs before closing.

The cost for fire or smoke damage restoration services typically ranges from $3,000 to $50,000. The final price depends on the severity and extent of the damage and the specific areas affected.
