"We couldn't ignore our complicated roof after a pretty brutal winter in 20/21: we're exposed at high altitude and subjected to major westerly winds and continuous freeze/thaw cycles (massive ice dams that are as impressive to look at as they are damaging). Add to that quite a few roof valleys, combos of both steep and shallow roof pitches, and many cathedral ceilings that lack the benefit of full attic insulation (which you really also need to deal with if you want your roof to do its job).
