"Monroe & More were amazing - excellent communication and they arrived with five builders who completed our deck in one day! They left the property as they found it. Enjoyed working with them to get the quote and set up the job."

"Bought a property in Sunset bay NY and needed a 150 foot fence immediately due to problem neighbor and limited time at the residence. (I’m from out of state). I emailed KKR construction through the Home Advisor app. Received a call from the owner Ken within an hour. He arranged a meeting the next day. Told him I needed a wooden fence with galvanized poles and brackets. He instantly gave me a very reasonable price and I agreed on the spot. Though he was extremely busy, he didn’t hesitate to fit our fence into his schedule. Within my timeline, Kens crew showed up on time, had proper equipment and high quality materials for the job. The fence took two days to construct . The crews work ethic and attention to detail were outstanding. Wooden fences are not really pretty to look out however KKR’s fence is a work of art. All of my neighbors agree that the fence is awesome. I’ll be hiring Ken and KKR again for other construction around the house for sure. I enjoyed working with Ken and His crew and look forward to working with them again!"

"It went perfect. Communication was excellent, I knew when they where coming, approx how much of the roof they where working on, and how long to finish. There was NO vulgarity at all during there time at my house. They where very professional. Price was far better than any other company that I had gotten quotes from. The work was completed in 2 days, they ran nail finder around the house and driveway, and there where none left after they left, also the extra material was left for me. Bradon also called about a month after the installation to make sure we where happy with the work. I would recommend this company."

Pole Barn Builders FAQs, answered by experts

While a romantic getaway in a vacation treehouse may sound appealing, building one to live in year-round comes with more challenges. However, a growing number of people are adopting this small-scale living approach to appreciate an off-the-grid, private lifestyle. It allows you to feel closer to nature in a sustainable, customizable, minimalist, and eco-friendly way.

In the U.S., original and converted carriage houses are most often found in New England, New York, and other parts of the Northeast. New construction carriage houses can be found across the country, and are often added to properties with Colonial-style homes for additional living, storage, or work space, although they can be found in many different styles.

The construction stage is almost always the longest part of building a house. Within this stage, framing often takes the most time, lasting anywhere from one week to a couple of months, depending on the home's size, the crew, and the time of year. Other parts of the construction phase include pouring the foundation and installing doors, windows, a roof, siding, drywall, and flooring. The planning and design phase can also be very time-consuming, sometimes taking months or even years, especially for a custom home. The final finishing process, which includes painting and installing trim, is typically shorter than the construction or planning stages.

While building a treehouse isn’t necessarily a death sentence, damaging the trunk is one of the ways to kill a tree. If you’re concerned about the tree, opt for a treehouse support system rather than attaching it directly to the trunk. This may involve using bolts and brackets to affix the structure to the tree's branches or establishing a standalone support system that remains unattached to the tree.

Rather than using a common two-by-four piece of wood for a rafter, you probably will use two-by-six, two-by-eight, two-by-ten, or even two-by-twelve boards. Wider lumber is typically a better choice in a larger building as it provides more sturdiness. Some installers may use wider lumber for rafters near the edges of the roof, where the greatest stress occurs, and save money with narrower lumber toward the middle.
