"I booked the cleaning mainly to help out my parents since they’re getting older and it’s becoming harder for them to keep up with everything around the house. They came in and did a really thorough cleaning of the kitchen, bathroom and common areas, including wiping everything down, dusting, vacuuming and mopping. They also helped straighten up some of the clutter that had built up over time in my w closet. Everything looked and smelled fresh when they were finished, and my parents were happy with how the house came out. It definitely took a lot off of them, especially with the heavier cleaning they can’t really do as much anymore. I’d use their service again."

Window Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A handy hair dryer will quickly remove condensation from your window, but it’s only a temporary fix. The hair dryer maneuver will not repair the root of the window fogging problem, which is likely a broken window seal. If you need to defog the window quickly, such as if guests are coming over, use the hair dryer. However, for a permanent solution, defogging the window or replacing it are the only options.

Cleaning services typically offer a range of options. Some of the most common cleaning tasks include:

  • Windows: $4–$10 per window

  • Refrigerator cleaning: $10–$40

  • Carpet cleaning: $75–$200

  • Baseboard cleaning: $25–$75

  • Laundry: $5–$20 per load

  • Cabinets: $20–$50

  • Polishing or waxing floors: $25–$50

  • Dusting: $10–$30

  • Oven cleaning: $20–$40

Do not mix bleach with vinegar, ammonia, acidic liquids, or other cleaners or detergents as toxic fumes result from the chemical reaction. Mix bleach only with water to avoid dangerous chemical reactions. Even mixed with water to dilute it, bleach can still be harmful to your skin, eyes, and lungs.

A vacuum with a hose attachment or a lint roller can easily remove dust from your window screen. Pressure washing window screens is another option, but you should make sure you have the appropriate nozzle and pressure setting to avoid doing extensive damage to your window.

Window washing usually refers to cleaning dirt and other debris off of the exterior of your windows, while window cleaning is a much more involved process that addresses the outside and inside of the glass, as well as the interior components. Window washing is more to improve the aesthetic of your windows, while window cleaning can improve performance, reduce the risk of damage over time, and even improve your home’s energy efficiency.
