"I needed stucco repair work on an old chimney (and other spots). Grady was meticulous and thoughtful on what approaches and materials would work. Throughout the project they allocated sufficient time for each treatment to cure and inspected the work before proceeding to the next step. Grady started the project with no money down and only required ongoing payments for materials until the project was well underway. The final payment was due only after they did a final inspection. Total project cost was also below other bids."

"Light Speed Welding is a gift from God. Matt got right back to me by phone and text. I sent him pix of the job. He gave me a fair price. It was a complex job and included welding three small pieces to a chassis. He did it perfectly w/o any complaining. Tough job, but he made it look easy. Talented. Recommend highly."

"They finished five weeks from the date of service. They were very upfront and honest. They said what they were going to do and they came on time. They put it up and there were no problems. It went very smoothly. Their pricing was in the ballpark of what I wanted; it was average. I would absolutely use them again."

"After giving me an estimate for the work and the above price agreed upon, Mr. Donovan did the work in a very professional manner.  He and his worker stayed until the job was fully completed even though earlier we had a thunderstorm.  I would recommend Eastern Welding Company for any welding and wrought iron work to be done."

"Frank, the owner, is awesome.  I made an appointment with him, and he came when he said.  He refinished a very special hutch that has been in my family for about 100 years.  At the time he came to see the hutch, we were dealing with losing my mom and cleaning out her house.  Frank picked up the hutch at her house in queens and delivered it to mine in suffolk when it was done.  He gave me a great price.  I cannot say enough about Frank's personality and ethics.  Having to deal with so many other things going on at the time, it was so great to have someone who just handled everything and did so with respect, consideration and professionalism.  The only thing I had to do was get handles and choose the color.  After Frank's employees finished half the piece, Frank was not happy with the color. So, he called us to go back and pick another color.  Frank kept in touch every step of the way.  This hutch is so very important to me and my family, and I did not feel the least bit nervous about leaving it in his hands.  Based on his reviews and his personality, I knew it would turn out great.  Well, it far exceeded my expectations.  They had a lot to deal with.  The piece was originally redone by two different people, so the top was a different color than the bottom, and none of the doors were ever refinished.  As a matter of fact, one of them was sanded way too much, and we were worried that it would not turn out well.  In addition, four of the doors on top are beveled glass--not easy to strip the wood that surrounds it.  Despite all of the challenges, they did an awesome job.  I have never in my lifetime seen that hutch look so beautiful.  When they carried in the first piece, it brought tears to my eyes. Words cannot express the gratitude and happiness I feel for the experience I had with Frank and his employees and how beautiful the hutch turned out.  With so many companies not caring about their clients, it is so important to me when I find someone who is the complete opposite.  I will recommend Frank to everyone I know who is looking to have anything refinished, and I plan to send him more of my own furniture.  This was an awesome experience.  I just sit and stare at the hutch because I cannot believe how beautiful it looks.  With all of the problems, it is a miracle how beautiful it looks.  Oh, and let me not forget, Frank personally delivered the hutch with one of his employees.  I still have not put anything in it because I am loving the way it looks, and I'm just not ready to change it right now.  Thanks for everything Frank.  You are fantastic all around.

Welding questions, answered by experts

Your typical household tools will not cut a metal pipe. To cut a metal pipe, you’d need more specialized tools like a pipe cutter or circular saw. Do not attempt to use these tools without taking proper safety precautions and wearing safety gear. It’s usually safer to let a pro cut a metal pipe, especially if you’re not confident in your skills with a heavy-duty saw.

Sawing your hot tub into more manageable chunks so it can be lifted easily into a truck takes several hours. Generally, 2.5 hours for smaller hot tubs and around 4 hours for larger ones with the help of one to two people. If money isn't a concern and you want to skip the physical labor, you can hire a pro to get the job done.

This all depends on the tools you have on hand and whether you’re trying to cut a straight line or shapes.

The best tool to use for straight lines is either a circular saw or table saw. When cutting shapes, a jigsaw will be the easiest and most precise tool to use.

Since water heaters are primarily made of metal, they’re commonly accepted by scrap yards and collectors. Don’t expect to fetch a high price, though—water heaters are mostly steel and aluminum, which aren’t high-value metals. Some components are made of more valuable metals, like brass and copper, but they’re a small portion of the heater and won’t affect the price much.

Cutting rectangular ductwork requires careful measurements and the right technique. Use a measuring tape and pencil to mark the cutting lines accurately. Tin snips are excellent for straight cuts on smaller ducts. For more extensive or thicker rectangular ducts, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade is effective.

Ensure the duct is well-supported and secure while cutting to prevent wobbling and maintain precision. After cutting, use a metal file to smooth any sharp edges, ensuring safety during installation.
