"Dave, the owner, was very agreeable and pleasant to deal with, scheduling the work according to my time frame. His employees did a great job stretching carpeting as well as shampooing and were also pleasant to deal with. The carpet was steam cleaned with a very powerful suction extracting years of accumulated dirt out of the carpet. Much better than any portable hand operated unit could ever do. As another carpet cleaning company told me, make sure the company is experienced and works out of a truck for the cleaning. Carpet Doctor is the best!"

Carpet stretching isn’t permanent, but it can last anywhere from two to six years. The longevity of this project depends on the quality of the carpet and whether it’s in a high-traffic area. You might not be able to stretch old or damaged carpets because they can tear. Certain fibers, like nylon, stretch better than others.

You can get away with stretching the carpet with some remaining items of furniture, so long as you have ready access to the parts of the carpet that require maintenance and you are not stretching through the furniture, as this leads to tears and fraying. Try to remove at least 50% of the furniture if you can’t remove it all.
