Syracuse Flooring America

Very pleased with our experience with Syracuse Flooring America. We ordered carpet for the bedroom. The service was very professional and they were prompt with the installation. We were so happy we went back and ordered laminate flooring for another area of the house.

I went to Syracuse Flooring America and purchased vinyl flooring for a kitchen/eat in area. The company came and installed. Less than a year later, the floor in my kitchen was like walking on waves. The floor went up and down between the floor joists. Asked them to come and look and they agreed that it was not correct. Their fix was to leave it and cover it up with additional flooring. I told them it was not acceptable to me. I had contacted 3 additional contractors who came and looked and were shocked to see that Syracuse Flooring America had removed my subfloor. They all explained that a subfloor is needed to support the floor itself. They all concurred that I needed the floor removed and the subfloor put back down. Then the new flooring needed to be installed. They told me to contact my local Enforcement Officer who also came and looked at my floor. My kitchen floor was no longer to code because the subfloor had been removed. He reinforced the contractors saying that the flooring needed to be removed, the subfloor needed to be put back down and new flooring installed over the new subfloor. I contacted Syracuse Flooring America who refused to do that. Since they refused, I asked for my money back as well as money for material for the subfloor they ripped out. I was willing to hire someone to put in my new subfloor. I had to go to the Attorney General's Office to get action. Syracuse Flooring America would only return the cost of the flooring/installation. I was not reimbursed for the subfloor material that they removed. Since my flooring issues came to light, there were others that I work with who have also had issues with their flooring. I do not recommend this company.

The experience wasn't that good. I asked them to be very careful with the flooring in the basement because it was vinyl. I found glue in the drain and since then I had to have the lines blown out. They didn't really call back or follow up. I had even had them blown out before they came. The price was substantial. It was overpriced. Some parts were good.

We used them during the flood. They were horrible. They didn't actually do the installation. They subcontracted for that. I didn't like them because they frequently would have to reschedule coming over here. They had to come over no less than 5 times to do the measurement because they didn't do it accurately. They also were trying to get a sample of the flooring that was in my basement affected by the flood, yet they never got the appropriate sample size. They were supposed to order ceramic tiles in addition to hardwood for different rooms and they never did that. The company that did the installation was horrendous. We still have some problems and they have just stopped contacting me when I left them messages. They were one of the preferred people to the insurance company. Absolutely don’t use them.

Could not make up my mind on what flooring to choose so they helped with that. Very helpful with the whole process.  Will look at their carpet next.

They came in and provided me with an estimate for providing bamboo floors and I accepted their estimate.  I used them just for the laying down of the bamboo and I had a different contractor do the ripping out of the carpet and prep of the rooms.  I spent $13800 on that service.  They really did a good job. 

We had Syracuse Flooring provide a price for carpet we selected and it was above what we wanted to spend. We consulted with their people who guided us to a good product within the price range we were comfortable with. The installation was scheduled and completed according to the schedule. We've also had this company install vinyl in three rooms and have been very pleased with their work and follow-up.

Overall from product selection to scheduling and installation, Syracuse Flooring America was a pleasure to do business with. There's no question in my mind that I'd buy from this company again.
