The best sheen depends on your needs. Satin and eggshell sheens are often recommended for siding since their lightly reflective finish can help hide imperfections while being relatively easy to clean. Washable vinyl wallpapers can stand up to bathroom humidity without peeling, as can semi-gloss or gloss paint finishes. However, if you’re someone who likes to redecorate often, paint may make it easier to change colors or designs more quickly. If you want full humidity protection and cleanability, tile or stone works better.

The time it takes to prep and paint a room depends wholly on the project's details. You can expect to spend at least two days on the job, including one for prepping and priming and one for applying two coats of paint.
