Small jobs welcome

"David and his team were punctual, completed the work in a timely manner, and kept us informed about the job status when there were weather delays. Thanks to David, our 19 year old deck looks brand new! My husband and I were so pleased with the results of our deck, we had David and his team power wash our house and fence. Stellar results!"

"Dan was here when he said he would be. Dan fixed a leak under my kitchen sink. He installed new pipes, bought supplies, and ordered parts. Picked up the parts when they came in. Came back when he said he would and installed the ordered parts. He would not take any money until the job was done. I am so please with his work, I will not hesitate to call him again. His price was very reasonable."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Technically, you can fill in a pool yourself—with the caveat that filling in a pool requires the ability to drain the pool properly and move a substantial amount of dirt, which aren’t beginner DIY skills. If you want to fill in a pool, you’re better off hiring a local pool removal professional.

Setting up a pool on unlevel ground is not recommended as it can damage the pool or yard and put the safety of those using it at risk. If a pool isn't level, the water's weight won't distribute evenly, putting excessive pressure on certain parts. This can cause the pool liner to tear or the walls to collapse, leading to water damage, expensive repairs, or potential injury to swimmers. It is more cost-effective to level the ground correctly before installation rather than waiting to address serious structural issues later.

You cannot DIY a gunite pool—unless, of course, you’re a homeowner who happens to also be a professional pool installer. And even pros need to have experience with gunite pools, in particular, before installing one. Only a skilled gunite pool technician can install this type of pool—it’s not a project you can do yourself.

The lifespan of a semi-aboveground pool depends on the lining, but they last between seven and 15 years on average. This is right in line with what you can expect from a standard aboveground pool. In comparison, an in-ground pool can last up to 75 years with a well-maintained concrete liner.

While some commercial pools are required to run their pump 24 hours a day, homeowners should not. Running a pool pump for 24 hours a day isn’t necessary to clean the pool water—eight hours is enough. Doing so unnecessarily increases your electric bill and puts more wear and tear on the pump and filter, shortening their lifespan.
