"Rox repaved our driveway three years ago and did an excellent job. I should have posted this review much sooner but I wanted to see how the new driveway would stand up to a few Vermont winters and storms. It has done fantastically! From Tina doing the quote to the experienced crew knowing exactly how to grade the drive, the service and expertise were excellent. It is now time to reseal the drive (normal maintenance) and I am again appreciating the work that Rox put into it. I highly recommend these professionals."

In areas with harsh winters or scorching summers, a slightly modified mix can help prevent cracking and rutting. Asphalt can get sticky in high temperatures and intense sunlight and is better for cooler or moderate climates, while concrete is more likely to crack in colder climates where water can seep into the slab and freeze. Asphalt requires more maintenance in terms of sealing, it has a slightly shorter lifespan, on average, and it’s a bit more expensive to install. Concrete will last longer with less maintenance, and it offers you more options for customization, including staining and stamped patterns. As such, a concrete driveway adds to home value more than an asphalt driveway in many cases.

Asphalt driveways last anywhere from 15 to 30 years, but if you don’t stay on top of repairs, you may find yourself spending extra to replace your driveway before its typical lifespan. Stay on top of repairing cracks and potholes by routinely inspecting your driveway once or twice a year. It’s a good idea to pressure wash your asphalt driveway at least once a year to keep it clean. Apply a sealer every one to five years, based on your climate.
