"I haven’t called them yet to tell them that they have the job. They were excellent. I cannot say enough about their professionalism. Of all the people who came and looked, he was my favorite. He listened to everything I said. I asked for winter interest and we went back to his nursery and I followed him. I asked him if he could cut the cost a little bit or if the animal liked something. He said cheap is better but most importantly it is if the plant worked in that corner. He listened when I wanted unusual type plants or trees. I was very impressed because the man listened to me. He was friendly and I liked his approach. He happened to be doing my neighbor’s next door. I thought it was funny because I was thinking about calling him. I went in and looked at my neighbor’s work and they had a huge row of arborvitaes put in as a fence and they were well developed. They were so perfectly straight, so neat and so symmetrical and everything about it said that I like these guys.  I have personally been to their beautiful nursery before. Their prices are very competitive and fair. It is adorable walking around the place and the way they have things laid out. They are willing to work with me. They are a couple of grand higher than I what I wanted to go but I really wanted to work with them. They are one of the few people who actually take payments. I didn’t want to charge it and they will let me work out a direct payment program with them and that is such a positive. That was the swaying factor. The other guy came about $1,400 less than him but in reality it was the variety of plants, 23 varieties of plants versus 12 varieties of plants and listening to me and not having to argue with somebody. The other people had better design and another guy was wonderful but they argued with me and they would forget half of things that I said. This is my yard. He gave insights like if a dog liked to urinate on them and I could steer clear of that or if I could put it where the dog isn’t, that type of thing or maybe he could do show some wood work, or if there was another choice. Also the amount of crews they run, they have a crew of 12 and they are that busy. They are well established as they have been here for 20 years; that’s as long as we have been here. I would highly recommend them just for their professionalism and they really work with their customer. I had bids for almost $10,000 and I had bids for in the mid $5,000 and they were in between that. I really didn’t want to spend that much. They are awesome, they even told me the difference in pricing and they were very honest. I really want them to do the yard. I was very comfortable with them. I said that the corner was not ready and it was not a part of the quote and I wanted to get the old Lilac out, it was 30 years old. We were talking about how to do this, so he said you will have to take this off the price and minus this and this is how I recommend you getting rid of this because we don’t do this type of work and it will be ready from next season, give it time to rot, pull it and he told me exactly how to do it. Then he told me what was going to go there. They give you a print out of every plant and how to care for it. They are the only ones who give you are two year guarantee on every plant, everybody else is a year. The representatives who come out push for next year about doing the mulching or taking care of the yard, you don’t get that push from him. I was not being pushed to think beyond the money that I was already going to spend. I had to push others for quotes, I had to literally call one and ask if he was in or out. One of them even asked if I really wanted something else and he said he had to get his camera and start all over again. I had none of that from these guys. He did it right the first time. He said that he remembered me telling him what I wanted to be done. I could not argue with that. He is a class all by himself. They were all thinking alike when I asked them to do the layout for the landscaping. He asked me to look at the list of his plants, 23 of them and the unusualness of it. The other person had given me a list of 12 and he asked me not to put one of those plants because it would take over everything. He said that I had told him that I wanted low maintenance because I was giving away my hundreds of flowers and that was the worst thing that I could put in my yard. That was his only sales pitch. He asked me to look at what he had given me and what the other guy had given me and said that he could not do any better on the price because of the quality of his plants. He also said that I had two times the plants and also the winter interest which the other guy was not giving me and everything would die off and it would be done. They were very busy and they were very honest when I called and told me that I was number four in line for a bid. I called on a Thursday and they said the soonest that I representative could get back to me was on a Monday or Tuesday, and they did. They called when they said that they were going to call. He knew what he said. He cancelled only once and unfortunately for him he became incapacitated by doctor’s orders for two or three days. They set you up with a representative and you stay with that one. There are four of them and they each have a crew and a case load. I can’t hold that against him. His name is Jeff. He made me laugh. He was wonderful. Unfortunately the first time he had to bring his twin sons with him and all he did was just apologize because their mom had to go and take care of her sick mother and the next time his daughter had come. Jeff was very charming, just the smile which said sorry. I really didn’t mind where as somebody else might have. It’s just an understanding there. It shocked me at first and the kids were a little distracting. I feel bad for even saying that. When I went to his nursery, he took the time, almost 2 hours with me going around looking at all the plants showing me the diagrams and why he wanted them put there, how old it would grow, the color choices and how he would fill it in and take something out. That is his professionalism. I want to call him back and commit. I would recommend him. Even my neighbors’ could not say enough, about how professional they were, coming up to her door and asking her to come out and take a look at the trees and asking her if they were in line, I went through the whole thing with her. They were nice, they played their music low and they were respectful of her yard. Having their own nursery is a big seller; you see the plants, feel the plants and imagine it in your yard.  I had assumed that they would be expensive because everybody in this town is expensive. I am a very truthful person, and if I did not like them I would tell you. I would definitely recommend getting a bid from them."
