"Michael came out to my house and was on time, professional, and listened to everything that I needed to have done-and the list was pretty long. He went to the store and got everything I needed to get the job done right the first time. I had plumbing, electrical, and vertical blind issues, and he knew what to do in every instance to get them fixed. He even re-lit the pilot light on my fireplace :) I would not hesitate to call them again. Thank you, Michael!"

"Jeff was prompt, honest, easy to communicate with and very knowledgeable. Jeff handled everything on my punch list and took pictures to document before/after conditions as he did the work! He gave me an estimate beforehand and consulted me when he found other issues that might be a problem. Thanks to Jeff, my house in NV is now ready to rent without me having to make the six hour drive to check on it! Fast, dependable, honest, thorough and willing to do extra, how can you top that; and at a reasonable price! He gave me references to check before I sent him my keys; all glowing responses! I trusted him, you can trust him!"

"Bobby is professional, has superb rates, and is very knowledgeable. He had very good suggestions for materials I needed to buy to make the project a success (insulated pet door.) The project was beautifully done, and he cleaned up afterwards. He was very honest about one project we wanted to do, suggesting a much cheaper, lower tech way to go that wouldn't require a handyman. I was so pleased with his honesty. He also installed digital thermostat controls, and again made excellent recommendations for a good type to buy. I won't call anyone else anymore; Bobby can do it all, and do it really well, at really reasonable rates! You'll be happy!"

Childproofing questions, answered by experts

The best time to hire a childproofing professional is at least three months before your due date. Although it might seem early, proper childproofing takes time, especially if you need extensive services like a pool fence. Getting your house ready now before your child is on the go only helps to protect them at all stages of life.

Yes, tamper-resistant outlets are designed to be safe for use in homes with children. They feature a spring-loaded shutter that blocks the electrical slots when not in use, which helps protect children from electric shock if they try to insert an object. While they are the safest option available and highly effective, it's important to note that few things are truly 'childproof.' Children may still try to imitate adults by inserting a plug. For this reason, it's best to use tamper-resistant outlets over less effective solutions like plastic covers, which can be removed or pose a choking hazard. Always supervise young children around any electrical outlets or devices.

A professional childproofer will first survey your home to identify potentially dangerous locations, including stairs, cabinets, and pools. Once approved, your professional will order and install the safety equipment for you.

Some ways a childproofing professional will make your home safe include:

  • Anchoring large furniture

  • Installing safety gates

  • Installing safety latches on cabinets and drawers

  • Covering railings that could trap a child

  • Covering electrical outlets

  • Installing a swimming pool fence

  • Removing or covering electrical cords where possible

Yes, tamper-resistant outlets are a safe and effective way to protect children from electrical hazards. They feature a spring-loaded shutter that blocks the outlet slots when not in use, preventing a child from inserting foreign objects. While they are the safest option available, it's important to note that few things can be considered truly 'childproof.' Children may still try to imitate adults by inserting a plug, so constant supervision around any electrical device is recommended. Tamper-resistant outlets are a much safer solution than childproofing covers, which can be removed by children and may pose a choking hazard.

Many parents, especially first-time parents, agree that professional childproofing is worth it. These professional childproofing services are trained to recognize dangerous home situations that many people would overlook until it's too late. Furthermore, professional childproofing experts have access to top-of-the-line equipment you can't purchase at most stores, providing longevity and peace of mind.
